Welcome to the Prinect User Days – November 18 and 19, 2015 at the Print Media Academy in Heidelberg

This fall sees the worldwide introduction of Prinect 2016, the latest version for new installations and upgrades, and the International Prinect User Days 2015 focus on presenting this new version with a rundown of its many additional functions. The event begins as usual with Heidelberg News giving a brief and concise thumbnail view of the key features of Version 2016. With six months to go before drupa, the first highlights of the Prinect drupa version will be revealed, including the announcement of a new product. Another key topic is the new ISO standard and how to manage it correctly. Andreas Kraushaar from the Fogra will cover everything you need to know about it.

With a total of more than 20 workshops to choose from, visitors have the opportunity to put together their own personal program. For the first time ever, the intended target groups are clearly set out for each of the various workshops, making planning much easier. From classic workflow workshops to printing issues regarding both digital and offset right through to color, everything is covered – not to mention workshops on packaging, web-to-print, multi-channel publishing and MIS. In short, there is something for everyone, from workflow users and people working in the pressroom or job admin processing to managers from all kinds of different sized companies.

As a new feature on the afternoon of the first day, we will be travelling by bus to the new Print Media Center Commercial in Wiesloch for several of the practical workshops. Meanwhile, one highlight that remains a firm fixture is our evening event at the PMA.

Come along on November 18 and 19, 2015 to the Prinect User Days at the Print Media Academy and see for yourself. Explore the latest developments at first-hand and enjoy sharing your ideas with colleagues in the industry.

11 to 12 a.m. Workshop series 1

Workshop 1: Prinect Analyze Point – what is my production data telling me?Prinect users know that Prinect gives you the unique opportunity to collect production data from all stages of your production process. Analyze Point evaluates them. But what do these reports actually tell you? We would like to guide you through these evaluations using real Analyze Point product reports from the company GraphicCo. In this workshop, you will learn what “normal” analyses look like and we will explain the key performance indicators on the basis of authentic examples. How can you discover the opportunities for optimizing your production processes while tracking your production data? The workshop is rounded off with tips based on Analyze Point success stories from other users. Target group: Analyze Point users and anyone interested in Analyze Point, as well as production managers, print shop managers and CEOs from all sizes of companies. Presenters: Brian Thorsgaard Hansen, Fynske Medier, Odense (DK), Cordula Völker, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG

Workshop 2: Web-to-Print: setting up web stores quickly and easily When print shops decide to go into the web-to-print business today, the very next question is which shop system is the best fit. We present a new solution and use practical examples to demonstrate just how easy it is to set up a store. Target group: this workshop is designed for participants in the process of selecting a web-to-print system – whether as a first system or an additional web-to-print system. Presenter: Lucia Dauer, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG

Workshop 3: Archiving with Prinect Ever since Prinect 2015, all Prinect Prepress Manager users have been able to easily and automatically archive print jobs. In this workshop we show you just what the latest 2016 version of Prinect can do and what we have set ourselves as a target for drupa especially for Prinect Content System users. Make the most of this opportunity to find out about the latest developments and help us enhance and further develop our product in line with what you are looking for.

Target group: the main focus of this workshop is on users from prepress and press who already archive and retrieve jobs, as well as Prinect Content System users.

Presenter: Dietmar Bischoff, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG

Workshop 4: Gang runs – how can I use them sensibly? Ever since Prinect Workflow first opened the door to producing “mini-jobs” in gang runs, distributing them intelligently over the sheet and, at the same time, keeping an eye on which jobs are being produced on which form, this function has continued to be developed. Take a look at the advanced options in Prinect 2016, find out for which products ganging is suitable for and discover whether you could benefit, too.

Target group: this workshop is designed for users from all sizes of companies actively using Prepress Manager and looking for further optimization potential using ganging. Presenters: Wiebke Stoltenberg, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, Meino v. Spreckelsen, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG

Workshop 5: Investing in a new MIS system? What savings can I expect? Before a new MIS solution is introduced, it is crucial to consider whether it is really worthwhile changing the existing operative system. Established data structures and processes make for expertise but they also pose potential risks. All staff members know what they are doing but are their tasks efficient or even necessary? This workshop presents support for changeover scenarios from an existing MIS to a new system with possible integration and will help you come to a decision.

Target group: this workshop is designed for the management of small, medium, and larger-sized companies finding their way around a new MIS system and seeing what it could save them. Presenters: Albert Tuijtel, Tuijtel, Hardinxveld-Giessendam (NL), René Schieber, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG

These values act as the reference according to which the best possible ink zone settings can be achieved at the press. This unique function offers support specificallyfor inking up with highly complex artwork.

Target group: this workshop is designed for anyone from Production to Management already using Prinect Image Control or thinking of starting to use it and looking to learn all about the new functions. Presenter: Bernd Utter, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG
