Another month has flown by, and we are quickly approaching the end of the year. Once again these are busy

from the 1st to the 19
th, and all proceeds will be going to KELC. We hope to use this money to improve our play
yard in the spring. In addition we have our Thanksgiving lunch, conferences, and field trips.
I will be gone November 5th
thru November 12th
to attend the annual NAEYC conference in Atlanta, so please see
Robin with any questions you may have while I am gone. She will also be checking my email periodically. Also,
if you have not returned your Parent Survey, please take the time to do so now. We will go over these results in
our Parent Meeting in January. ~ Jeni

We had a great play date with our grandfriends and KELC
children last month. We had fall bingo, building blocks,
play dough and much more that we took down to the
auditorium and shared with our grandfriends. Please stop
and see our Intergenerational board in the main hallway
around the corner from the Giraffe’s door as we have
posted pictures of all the fun we had together.
This month we will be inviting our grandfriends
who visit our classroom to our Thanksgiving lunch
so you can meet them, too!

October has always been one of my favorite months to spend with
young children. There are always so many great things going on in
the classroom. When you think of October you of course think of
pumpkins. We guessed the weight and width of our pumpkin, and
pounded golf tees into a pumpkin. We painted pumpkins and later
added jack-o-lantern faces, and worked with pumpkin play dough.
We bowled with pumpkins, made silly faces with Mr. Pumpkin
Head, and some of us even got to watch as our Kendal friends did a
dance with pumpkins on their heads! What a great sight to see!
In October we also went on our first ELI field trip. On this trip we
went to the Cleveland Botanical Gardens to study water. The
children really enjoyed getting their fingers tickled by the very friendly fish which were swimming in the pond. They also enjoyed
walking through the glasshouse to observe all the beautiful
butterflies and having the opportunity to walk under a waterfall.
Our next ELI trip will be on November 15 when we will be going to
the Cleveland Museum of Art. Our topic for this trip will be
Portraits: What’s The Story?
We look forward to getting to meet with you at conferences.
Karen, Sara and Julie
October sure did fly by! We had so much fun! We learned all about
pumpkins. We cut a pumpkin open and took out the seeds and pulp.
We baked the seeds to taste them and planted some to see if they
would grow! We also carved a little pirate pumpkin. We also had
play time in the auditorium with our Grandfriends to celebrate
Intergenerational month.
Our new friend, Hazel, is doing great! We all love to play with her.
She loves to play bus ride with Maddie, Phoebe, Asia, and Sebastian.
Phoebe has become quite the talker. She loves playing with all her
friends, pretending to ride the bus. Asia is always so excited to
participate in all our activities. She loves to paint and really loves to
play in the sand outside. Sebastian has become our little leader. He is
always willing and wanting to help our younger friends. Maddie loves
reading stories to her friends. She has them sit on the carpet, and she
will get a chair to sit on and “read” the story. Our friends have really
started to interact more during play and dig deep into pretend play and
role modeling. Our room has really changed from a toddler room to a
preschool room with the activities they are doing and the way they are
interacting with each other.
Have a great month!

walking through the glasshouse to observe all the beautiful
butterflies and having the opportunity to walk under a waterfall.
Our next ELI trip will be on November 15 when we will be going to

Portraits: What’s The Story?
We look forward to getting to meet with you at conferences.

Sara, Robin, and Jenn
Another month has flown by, and we are quickly approaching the end of the year. Once again these are busy
months for everyone so please keep your calendars handy. We will be having a Thirty-One Fundraiser this month
from the 1st to the 19
th, and all proceeds will be going to KELC.
~ Jeni

posted pictures of all the fun we had together.
