Importance of Time Management

Remember the serial Mahabharat? The entire theme was narrated as if time is speaking

starting with the sentence….. “Main Samai Hu”. Since time is very precious of which the

importance has to be understood and its management implemented. Time management of

all our activities shall take us to the path of success.

Let’s take an example in the school we have a daily timetable, managed by our school

authorities. Further there is a timetable for examination too. If the school authorities do not plan it, there

will be a chaos. Likewise in our daily life, we have 24 hours per day we too have a timetable then, why is

it that some perform well and some don’t?

The answer is simple. Those who perform well have their priorities well defined and set in mind and

vision. Be it studies, sports or any other activity.

We are at the threshold of building our career. Some may be interested in engineering, some in medicine,

some in sports and some in other fields. We all have to manage our time to achieve our goals. It is

important to have a written time table.

All projects big or small have a timeline and the people involved, work hard to complete their work on

time. Why? Because they are aware of the benefits of completing work on time. If an emergency at the

hospital or at the border is not addressed timely, the results are disastrous. So, we should take a pledge

to use our time effectively and lead a satisfactory life by contributing to the society.

Discipline - A Precious Asset

Discipline implies a particular kind of training in self-control, orderliness, obedience,

punctuality and cooperation. It leads us to do better in life and is, indeed, the hallmark

of progress. One cannot progress without discipline whether it be an individual, a

society or a nation.

Discipline is not, as it is generally considered by the younger generation, a threat to

individual freedom. One can be free and at the same time, disciplined to the core.

Discipline may put some restrictions on individual freedom but they are essential for the collective good,

leading to rapid progress. No nation can progress without discipline.

Discipline is highly valuable in our every walk of life. We have to follow it all time whether we are in the

school, home, office, institutions, factory, playground, battlefield or other places. It is the most important

necessity of the happy and peaceful life. It gives us lots of great opportunity, right way to go ahead, to

learn new things in life, to experience more within less time, etc. and grow. Whereas, lack of discipline

causes lots of confusion and disorders. Indiscipline gives no peace and progress in the life instead

creates lots of problems.

The home is the nursery where we receive our first lessons of discipline through obedience to parents

and elders. As we pass out of the nursery and enter the portals of an educational institution, discipline

becomes a matter of vital importance. Student life is a preparation for the battle of life. Lack of discipline

among the youth of a country may endanger national security. Really it is a precious asset.
