What an amazing year 2017 has been. We can’t believe it is almost over! We have had such a great year
from Officer Training and Public Speaking to Camps and most recently the Fair. Thank you to everyone
who helped make this year so successful. We couldn’t have done it without you!
We have a new Program Assistant. Darby D’Ambrosio started in July and we are so excited to have her!
Darby will be working with EFNEP, Robotics, and the military program and many other things. She will do
whatever she can to help you!
We had many of our youth participate in regional, state and national 4-H events. Again this year, we had
3 fantastic camps with great teen leaders and an amazing adult staff. We tried a Fair Project Day in
August, which was a big success and we hope to do another next year. September brought the fair! With
everyone’s hard work we were able to make our building look great, even in a smaller space. Thank you
to all of the volunteers that helped make the fair a success!
National 4-H Week just ended and we had another very successful Clover Campaign at Tractor Supply!
Thank you to the 4-H clubs that went to the store and promoted 4-H! Tractor Supply is always such a
wonderful supporter of the program and helps us show off what 4-H does for youth. As we wrap up the
year Charles County will have had several youth recently participate in state contests, such as Dog Bowl,
while 4 other youth from Charles County who qualified for State Judging teams will have competed at
National Contests! Good luck to all! We also had 2 youth represent Charles County at West Virginia Older
Members’ Conference and National 4-H Congress! What a year!
Don’t forget Record Books are due by December 8th!
Thank you everyone for always “Making the Best Better” during 2017! We are thankful for so many
wonderful youth and adult volunteers!
The Charles County Staff are looking forward to another great 4-H year in 2018!
