Henny Penny Chickens
On the 25th October Kalyna Care held a Diwali Special Indian Community
Morning Tea with traditional Indian food. This was a joyful event accompanied
by a Bollywood entertainer who sang, danced and used props to
encourage our residents to take part in this event.
On the 14th October Henny Penny chickens arrived at Kalyna Care. This is
an annual event for our residents, where they can observe chickens being
hatched from the eggs and once they reached a certain size, the residents
were able to hold and enjoyed watching them. This brought back many
happy thoughts of when they owned chickens themselves.

Building Works Update
Reliance Construction has completed stage 2 of the refurbishment involving completion of 4 premium single rooms. The spacious rooms have been nicely appointed with a kitchenette and a large size ensuite. Glass fronted kitchen cabinets and a glass fronted memorabilia cabinet outside the room complete the look.
Stage three has commenced with demolition occurring in rooms K1-K5. These rooms are expected to be completed by Christmas time. Harris HMC have advised that due to latest conditions identified recently the construction of the cafe will now require
third parties' involvement which unfortunately will delay its completion to February 2020. This is an unavoidable delay and Kalyna Care is very disappointed with not having a cafe ready for Christmas. Another crane lift will occur later this week to bring over steel for the café. Harris have removed a garden bed from the front car park to prepare new access for ongoing works.
The reception area has been moved around further into the front of the building whilst the new reception area is being built.
