I participated in the Helena Block Party and as a result I booked several Silpada jewelry parties that day. I’m thrilled with the connections and business relationships I’ve made since joining the Chamber in May. My involvement in the Chamber has made such a HUGE impact that I decided to take it a step further and joined the Ambassadors Program. This has given me an opportunity to develop even more relationships.

Joining the Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce has been one of the BEST business decisions I’ve ever made!

Membership Database Benefi ts

In today’s economy, it’s more important than ever to reach out to your customers to keep them informed of your products and services. Independent studies have shown that those companies that continue to advertise consistently provide a unique window of opportunity for investment purposes to:

1) Build equity2) Solidify your customer base 3) Gain new customers and 4) Make inroads on your competitors who have cut their

advertising during what may viewed as a “slow” period in the economy.

This window of opportunity is created by the understanding that advertising is an investment, not an expense.

The Chamber can assist in expanding your advertising and marketing efforts ... inexpensively! As a member, you have the opportunity to purchase the Greater Shelby Chamber membership database for only $100. This list contains our current Chamber members, their respective representatives, physical and mailing addresses, telephone numbers, and websites. And, upon request, you’ll receive quarterly updates for an entire year. The membership database can easily be emailed in an Excel spreadsheet straight to your Inbox. It’s that simple!

To receive your membership database, contact the Chamber offi ce at 663-4542 or email [email protected] and expand your marketing outreach today!

Sponsored in 2010 by Business Telephones Inc. and Cahaba Valley Computer Services LLC, Grow & Go workshops are designed to keep you informed of current market trends and provide professional development techniques to keep your career and business moving forward. Grow & Go workshops are great opportunities for you to network with other professionals and get a refresher course on the essential skills of leadership needed in today’s business environment.

At the August luncheon, I sat with Bruce Gouin of Express Personnel. I mentioned that we were looking at several temp services to help us staff special events. He immediately followed up with our caterers — Jay and Lynn Roberson. We now have a contract with Express to provide staffi ng for special events! It is a perfect example of chamber networking and relationships. I have known Bruce over 10 years and knew that he would work hard to meet our needs. We had budget constraints, but needed reliable, professional workers. Bruce worked hard to present a proposal that met our needs.
