A leaking flat roof often causes the owners andusers of a building considerably more damagethan simply the cost of repairs to seal a leakagein the roofing membrane. If water drips ontomachines or electrical components, a productionstandstill, shortfall or even the loss of an entireproduction run can be the outcome. Even a damppatch on a living room ceiling involves considera-ble organisational and manual work, and a smallhole in the roof will soak the heat insulation,increase heating costs and result in unnoticedand insidious destruction of important structures.

NOVOPROOF® DA-S is the robust renovation system lined with thick non-woven fabric for roofs of wood, concrete or aerated concrete.

NOVOPROOF® DA-K is suitable for economical and immediatelaying on tread-proof roof insulation, on concrete, for trapezoidalcorrugated sheeting, and for new construction and renovation.

NOVOPROOF® DA-G is the aesthetic, light grey roof sealing, which significantly reduces incoming heat in the summermonths.

NOVOPROOF® DA-P 13 is a large-area sealing product withwhich flat roofs can be covered with a prefabricated sheet upto 900 m2.

EPDM – the primary product behind the NOVO-PROOF® system – is a proprietary synthetic rub-ber formulation with unique properties andcharacteristics, whose formula and mix has beenspecially conceived for the respective fields ofapplication, on the basis of our many years ofexperience and the know-how obtained over fivedecades.

Proven qualityPermanent elasticity with no migration of plastici-zers, resistance to the increasing ozone burdenand extreme flexibility at temperatures rangingfrom –40 °C to +120 °C [-40 °F to +248 °F] arejust some of the properties which make NOVO-PROOF® attractive. Loose laying, firm holdNOVOPROOF® DA-P 13 is laid loose as a large-area membrane. The roof skin is then protectedagainst wind suction immediately after laying bya protective layer of gravel or tread panels. A full-surface separating layer is also first applied tothe roof if required. This both acts as a move-ment compensation layer to the subsurface, andalso protects the membrane against mechanicaldamage.

Moulded partsTo prevent roof penetrations from creating weakpoints, we also offer a wide range of preformedunits to cope with every detail. These are usedfor the on-site sealing of such things as chim-neys, roof-lights, lightning conductors or corners.Prefabrication of these precision-formed partsboth increases reliability and reduces the detailwork required on the roof.

Money from the stateTo promote the creation of green areas, manystates and communities have generated subsi-dies. This means that every green area installedis subsidised and every square meter of a greenroof has a positive effect on the cost of drainage.In addition to the ecological and economic bene-fits, a planted roof also has other interestingadvantages.

Green roof, image factorMany production processes cannot be complete-ly natural and yet we cannot do without them.A planted roof in this environment is a sign for allto see, a sign which says that this piece of theenvironment is still good. It documents –prestige awarding – management’s environmen-tal concern towards employees and inhabitantsalike.

Nearly every building causes the soil to be sea-led,impairs natural water circulation and fills thesewage system with additional rainwater. Greenroofs store are large proportion of precipitation,make a valuable contribution to the ecologicalbalance and are also an intelligent alternative tothe additional load of pebbles or tiles on a flatroof.The initial greater investment is worth it in theend if by choosing NOVOPROOF® DA-P 15 youchoose top quality for the base layer and there-fore a high degree of reliability for decades tocome.

Cool in summer,warm in winterGreen roofs guarantee improved inside tempera-tures in three ways at once. The drainage layer,substrate and vegetation reduce the impact ofthe sun. Adiabatic cooling, i.e. the evaporationeffect in the green roof, also causes the rooftemperature to drop. Instead of having a tempe-rature of 80 °C [176 °F] or more, the roof mayhave a temperature of only 30 °C [86 °F] andinside temperatures stay lower for longer. Inwinter, the overall inherent better k value of agreen roof ensures that less heat is lost throughthe roof and therefore results in reducedheating costs.

Nature above and belowEPDM rubber is a virtually natural material,ecologically harmless and environment compati-ble. In contrast to many other roof sealingsystems NOVOPROOF® DA-P 15 does notcontain any volatile softeners and thereforemaintains its excellent elasticity permanently.For example, some bituminous seals have threelayers, whereas NOVOPROOF® DA-P 15 is madeof only one layer, it is a robust membrane, sealand protection against roots all in one and con-tains no root poisons. Proved by more than 30years of practical experience. This is beneficialto nature and the performance of the plantedroof above but also to the people below. Not onlydoes it improve the microclimate – acting as agreen lung – it also reduces noise and improvesprotection against fire considerably.

A permanent jointJust as important as a technically perfect mate-rial is the welding technology used to turn thestrips into membranes. This is why we havedeveloped the Thermofast® welding technology:without the use of adhesives or solvents, theoverlapping sheets are welded together elementby element to form large, waterproof sealingmembranes. According to the requirements inquestion, the membranes are then rolled up atthe works onto a cardboard core, so that theycan then be unrolled on site from a specific pointover the prepared subsurface.

Reliable sealing of penetrationsThe Thermofast® welding technology is also usedfor the integration of formed components intothe system, for example at points where themembrane has to be penetrated by overflow orother pipes. Here, prefabricated, formed compo-nents are used to ensure complete integrity fromthe very beginning.

NOVOPROOF® TE is the system membraneused for the construction of large-area facilitiesfor the specific retention of water. These includetechnical facilities such as water treatmentbasins, fire-extinguishing water reservoirs andecological systems.

Always the right basisAs the technical market leader in the use ofEPDM rubber, DURAPROOF has in NOVO-PROOF® TE created a material which is comple-tely impermeable to water, and without anymechanical damage will retain its integrity per-manently.This type of EPDM rubber remains elastic andflexible under all imaginable conditions. Even thefolding test at the rather unlikely temperature forour latitudes of –30 °C produces no cracks at allin the material. NOVOPROOF® TE sheets canstill be laid under heavy frost conditions, andeven ozone, which is a long-term problem formany conventional types of pond sheeting, hasno harmful effect on NOVOPROOF® TE. Thematerial is also classified in cracking level 0 inthis respect. The natural elasticity of NOVO-PROOF® TE is also maintained over temperaturesfrom –40 °C to +120 °C [–40 °F to +248 °F].
