IMPORTANT REMINDER About Travel and COVID

As you know, we have reduced social distancing in our schools from six feet between students to three feet between students to accommodate a full return to in-person instruction. This means that if a student tests positive for COVID or is a close contact to someone with COVID, now the number of individuals within their contact tracing circle at least doubles. As such, as April vacation approaches, we feel it is more important than ever to remind folks how vitally important it is to the health of our staff, students and schools to continue to vigilantly follow COVID safety protocols for travel. If your family travels out of state over the April break, please contact your child’s school nurse as soon as possible (preferably, prior to the trip) to let them know, so that they can provide you with the appropriate action steps to ensure your child’s safe and healthy return to their school building when vacation is over. We know everyone needs this break, and everyone deserves to enjoy this time with their families in any way they see fit. So, enjoy your vacation time, and please stay safe and healthy!

Please Return Devices

The district has had two Chromebook, iPad and Hot Spot Collection days on May 31st and April 7th. However, we still have over 400 devices that need to be returned to the district as soon as possible, to provide our students with devices in the buildings.

We are expecting that many devices will be returned by middle and high school students when they return to fully in-person on Monday, April 12th. As such, we will have members of our technology department stationed at the entrances to both buildings to collect Chromebooks from students as they come in in the morning.

If your child in grades K-12, who is now back to fully in-person instruction, has a district-borrowed device, please have them bring it to school with them as soon as possible for collection and processing, so that we can redistribute back to the students in the buildings.

The Chromebook should be returned in a plastic bag that is labeled with your child’s name and grade level, and the charging cord should be included in the bag.

If you have any questions about Chromebook or device return, please email our technology department at [email protected].

Remote Meal Pick-Up During April Break

Remote meals for the week of school vacation will be provided via pick-up on Wednesday, April 21st, between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. at Balmer Elementary. If you are unable to pick-up during this time, please contact the Food Service Director at [email protected].
