Firefly Optical Photo Diode (OPD)

Firefly’s OPD uses two wide-band filters which respond to TLEs and lightning, and two narrowband filters (centered on 777.5 nm) for background rejection and lightning-only detection

Firefly’s OPD and VLF receiver board (Engineering unit).

The optical detector chain will be calibrated at UNH.
