President’s Message 42nd Anniversary Danceis Our Next Campout

WOW! Where to start? OK, we’ll start with the easy stuff. This coming campout is our forty-second anniversary; and it looks like a great one. As you remember, Debbie and Brice won’t be at the campout as they have a big Pow-Wow in the works. So, this will be our first practice run for when they retire in December. Ugh. Now, the not so easy stuff…the last campout. There is no easy way to say it, but YOU GUYS ROCK! Months ago, I had this idea for the TSCS campout-The Greatest Show on Earth. First, the stage. Terry and I made a smallish crepe paper tent and Janet walked in and said, “Oh, that’s what you meant; I’d imagined it a little differently.” So, I said, “You go, girl. You’re in charge.” And she, Greg and Laura got to work and TRANSFORMED the stage along with other club members. It was STUPENDOUS. Next, the set-up. People just got busy and arranged everything, even down to alternating colors on the tables…so festive. The FOOD-I looked around and the peanuts, popcorn, and animal crackers were out along with a stunning array of snacks-enough to feed a small third world country for a week! DELICIOUS. The Grand March and Color Guard-so beautiful and moving. The Dance-the Ring Master and Lion Tamer were great and our visiting callers kept us moving and grooving. Thanks, Carol and Nelda. At some point, I looked around and realized I had nothing to do-all of you were hosting what truly was the Greatest Dance on Earth. And, last but not least…the Afterparty. It started with Pierre and Celia. Pierre, you were great. But, Celia stole the show. Between the stilettos and the love kisses, the entire hall was in stitches. And, at the end, Pierre, when you sing, you made us all feel the love of our nation. Then the skit. Once again, I had an idea. But the models made the outfits their own. Becky and Steve Toroverde (Bulgreen), really-a BALL GOWN. I, once again, was blown away. I won’t bore you with a rundown of the costumes. Every outfit right down to Robert and Karen’s bathing suits were so funny. I will have pictures at the next campout. But, basically, THANK ALL OF YOU FOR THE HARD WORK AND GREAT FUN WE HAD. See you April 7-9.

SO, LET’S GET DANCING Jamie
