REMINDER – “EXIT ON TIME”
TUESDAY, 30th AUGUST.
As was mentioned in the newsletter
several weeks ago, at the P&C
meeting on Thursday last week,
and numerous times at student
assemblies, tomorrow, Tuesday
30th August, is the day we need to
have all students off the school
grounds at 3pm on the dot. This is
to allow teaching and support staff
time to get to Monteagle Public
School for an important training
session on asthma.
If there are any problems with this
arrangement could you kindly
contact the school on Tuesday
morning and we will endeavour to
create a workaround for the
problem.
WARRANGONG TROPHY
The Warrangong Trophy for 2011
will be held on the night of
Tuesday, 25th October at the
Young North school hall. There are
currently 16 teams of 4 students
registered to compete in the
competition. Wombat Public
School is organising this
competition on behalf of the
Young Small Schools.
At this stage Wombat Public School
will be sending two teams to the
competition, although only one of
the teams will be allowed under
the rules to be the official Wombat
team.
BROWN THACKERAY CARNIVAL
This will be held on Saturday, 29th
October 2011 and will be at
Monteagle Public School. There is
also a backup date in case of bad
weather; this will be Saturday, 5th
November 2011. All students are
encouraged to attend this carnival
WITH their parents and extended
family. Competitions are run for the
students but also for ex-students and
parents of the schools and it is a
great social event as well as an
athletics carnival!
REGIONAL ATHLETICS
REPRESENTATIVES
We wish the very best of luck to
Sienna Bloor, Georgia Buttigieg and
Sienna Lane as they travel to Albury
on Friday this week to compete in
the Regional Athletics Carnival.
“BEING BRAVE” - SCHOOL
PERFORMANCE
A final reminder that the school
performance “Being Brave” will be
held at Young North Public School
this Thursday, 2nd
September. This
performance will be attended by all
the Young Small Schools. Payment
for this performance should be
brought to the school office this
week.
Kind regards and enjoy the week.

A big congratulations to all of our students for
their excellent contribution and participation
in our “One World - Many Stories!” day.
They dressed up with fun and flair and our
primary students stepped outside their
comfort zones to produce some excellent
story telling. Sienna Lane, Rory and Georgia
were the winners of the storytelling
competition.
Some of the comments made by our infants
students:
“I loved Sienna Lane‟s story called “Yay”. It
was so exciting!”
“ “The Bike Lesson” was so funny and Rory
was fantastic!”
“Yousuf read us “Would You Rather”. He did
a good job!”
“It was so cheeky when Fegus was doing the
opposite to what his owners told him. This
was when Georgia read us “Fergus”.”

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART
Congratulations to all students on their
participation at Friday‟s Jump Rope for Heart
Jump Off. Students completed 5 activities after
lunch including single rope, partner, relays and
long rope skipping.
At the rest station, students coloured in pictures
of the heart and healthy lifestyle choices. The
“pretzel” was a popular challenge at the „Learn
a new skill‟ station.
At present total fundraising for the event is
$583.20. This is a fantastic effort by all. If you
still have any fundraising money at home,
please return it to the front office by
Wednesday this week. Money will be tallied
and sent to the Heart Foundation for
processing before prizes will be sent back to
the school.
CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY
This year students will be presenting „Charlie
and the Chocolate Factory‟ as their school
play.
Students in Year 2 to Year 6 will play the main
roles while the Kindergartens and Year 1 stu-
dents will be the Oompa-Loompas. Students
who have a main role have been given their
own script to rehearse at home however these
will need to be kept in their school bags as
rehearsals will take place at school as well.
The play will be held at the hall in Week 3
Term 4.
