Nicholls for her fantastic work as the Acting Assistant Principal this term. Miss. Nicholls has done a fantastic job and will be missed up in the office area (and of course so will Bailey!!) A big thank you to Ms. Terlich who replaced Miss. Nicholls in the 5/6 area. You have done an amazing job and all the students will miss you. We know we will see you around in term 4. Thank you to Miss. Bertram who has been working as an ES member in the 5/6 area this term. We will be sad to see you go and wish you all the best for your future endeavours. I can’t believe that we are at the end of term 3 already. It has been fantastic performing the role of Principal this term and I would like to thank all the staff, students and parents for their support. Mrs. Edwards will be returning all refreshed and sun tanned at the beginning of term 4. Compass Launch Thank you to the parents whom attended our Compass launch afternoon. We hope that you have all had a chance to log on and get familiar with the system. We will be running another session early term 4 for those whom missed out or were unable to attend. Last Day of Term/Student Disco Friday 16th September is the last day of Term 3. (How quickly this term has gone!) School will finish at 2.30pm on this day. There will be a student Disco on this day and students are asked to come in their footy colours. The cost of the disco is $5 per student/$10 per family. There will not be a footy match between staff and 5/6 students on this day now. Region Athletics We had some fantastic results from the Region Athletics last Thursday with 6 students qualifying for the next level. Georgia Dakin came 1st in her Long Jump with a record jump and 2nd in High Jump, Chloe Culhane came 3rd in Triple Jump, Jess Hall came 4th in Discus and 3rd in Shot Put, Maddi Foss came 2nd in Discus, Jed Rosenow came 2nd in 1500m, Tyson Masinovic came 3rd in High Jump and Ngawati Reuben came 4th in his High Jump. in Term 4. A Roster for Term 4 has gone home today.

CHILDRENS CENTRE UPDATE The construction of the internal driveway and carpark area will start Monday 19 September and finish before the building works commence, weather permitting. The new building works are expected to begin from 7 November 2016 and take up to 15 months to complete (late January 2018).

SPORTS JACKETS We have sports jackets available to students representing the school at various events. At the moment we have two of

these jackets that have not been returned. Could you please check at home if you have one of these school jackets and return it to school. Thank you.

BOOK FAIR We had a very successful Book Fair last week with just over $2000 being spent. This has enabled the school to purchase just over $600 of new library books. A big thank you to Kimberley Black, Kirsty Taranto and Mandy Coward for helping out during the week and all the families that spent up.

BIKE ED On Tuesday 13th October, 16 students from grade 3-6 students travelled to Newhaven Primary School to the annual District Bike Education Challenge. Bass Valley entered two teams in the competition and both performed admirably in the confined indoor arena on the day. Of the 14 schools competing Bass Valley team 1 finished in 3rd place and Bass Valley team 2 finished in 5th place. Congrat-ulations to Ngawati Rueben and Becky Heffer on receiving the encouragement awards for their individual performance. Thank you to Jo Cartmel and Kylie Lansdown for providing transport on the day.
