will be asked to solve in the KS2 SATs Give information about ways you can support your
children in preparing for the SATs
Please be aware that this power point will be available on the school’s website.
During the SATs tests the children
will be asked a variety of questions
but many of them revolve around
the 4 key operations.
On the Arithmetic Paper the questions are written as sums with no context. e.g. 234 x 26, 3476 + 2365

The Reasoning Papers contain problems that require interpretation and performing more than one operation.
Ways to support your Year 6 child:
Please practise the following skills at home: • Times tables including division facts and related
facts – so that the children know them with quick recall at random.
• Real-life problems – use real life situations such as going to the shops as an opportunity for the children to practise their maths.
• Time – try to find opportunities for the children to tell the time on different clocks and read timetables.
