Nursery Newsletter Week beginning 18 th September 2017: News We enjoyed a very busy week in Nursery this week. The children are adjusting well to their new routines. They enjoyed their first project of this term; the Upper Nursery had great fun playing ‘Monkey See, Monkey Do’ game. The Lower Nursery put their pouring skills to the test and were learning how to make a cup of tea; we had to remind them not to be tempted to have a sip! They also learnt the rhyme ‘Polly put the kettle on’. Free-flow During free-flow this week the children were enjoying the new role-play areas in their classrooms, ‘The Roche Hospital’ and ‘The Roche Cottage’. The Lower Nursery have been practising their balancing skills and have been walking along the planks. They have been developing their hand-eye coordination skills by playing swing ball which they found quite challenging. They are also learning to snip with scissors.

Nursery Newsletter

Week beginning 18th September 2017:

News

We enjoyed a very busy week in Nursery this week.

Free-flow

During free-flow this week the children were enjoying the new role-play areas in their classrooms, ‘The Roche Hospital’ and ‘The Roche Cottage’. The Lower Nursery have been practising their balancing skills and have been walking along the planks. They have been developing their hand-eye coordination skills by playing swing ball which they found quite challenging. They are also learning to snip with scissors.

The Upper Nursery have been focusing on mark making and matching activities. They are already making excellent progress in writing their names.

They were also keen to take one of our school bears home. On Monday the children shared their bear adventures with their friends.

They have been working hard on learning how to use the interactive whiteboard, its functions and magic pen.

Finally……

We would like to remind parents to bring their child’s Comment book to Nursery daily. If your child wears nappies, could you please check your child’s shoe bag weekly and ensure it is fully stocked with nappies, wipes and nappy sacks. Could you please check all uniform is clearly labelled with your child’s name.

We would also like to thank our Lower Nursery parents for their patience with the temporary flooring. The new floor is due to be fitted this weekend.

Many thanks

Nursery Team
