Ulizing a concept-based framework, major concepts are introduced in the first semester and then linked throughout the program. Students will receive supervised clinical experiences in hospitals and long-term care facilies, and have the opportunity to learn in a cung-edge simulaon lab. Graduates will meet the educaonal requirements to take the Naonal Council Licensure Examinaon for Registered Nursing (NCLEX-RN). Choose Your Degree Compleon Path! Two pathways are offered to assist students in obtaining this degree. Both pathways admit students annually based on a selecve admission process. 1. A five semester full-me program is offered at the Escanaba campus every fall and at the Iron Mountain campus every winter. 2. A three semester part-me compleon program is offered at the Escanaba Campus every winter. This program is specially designed for current Licensed Praccal Nurses with unrestricted licensure who intend to advance their nursing educaon into the field of Registered Nursing. Career Opons Entry level Registered Nurses may find employment in a variety of pracce sengs, including but not limited to: acute care hospitals, long-term care facilies, clinics, physicians offices, or as corporate nurses or travel nurses.

Course Information

Students are required to purchase uniforms and liability insurance for this program. The college makes arrangements for liability

insurance. Prior to entrance in the program, the Department of Allied Health requires students to successfully pass a criminal background

check, a drug screening, AHA CPR for the healthcare provider, and a Certification of Physical Fitness Form completed by a physician.

Students must also have proof that they are immunized for specific contagious diseases. Facilities may have additional requirements that

students will have to meet.

Program Approval: The Bay College Associate Degree in Nursing program is approved by the Michigan Board of
