Friday 26 th June 2020 Nurture, Nature, Knowledge: Enabling inquisitive thinkers and inspired learners with kind hearts. OUR VALUES THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK KS2 RESIDENTIAL TRIP Since the previous correspondence relating to this trip, the Boundless Outdoors team have been in touch to change the date again due to logistics. The finalised date for this visit is 15 th 17 th March 2021. NEW RECEPTION STARTERS It was lovely to see our new Reception parents and some of the children at our virtual welcome meeting on Thursday evening! We look forward to welcoming any of these children who have not been attending our Nursery bubble, for a transition visit to school on Thursday 9 th July, from 1.15pm2.30pm. We are excited to welcome them in to Reception in September! 11 PIANO LESSONS We are very aware of the fact that a number of families had paid for 11 piano lessons with Mrs Gordon up to May halfterm. I have spoken to Mrs Gordon and we have agreed two options. The first option is that families can be refunded for the missed lessons. The second option is that the lessons that have been paid for can be carried over to the new academic year, when we hope lessons will be able to resume. Please email [email protected] by Monday 6 th July if you would like to take up the first option. Thank you. STAFFING UPDATE LEAVERS As the end of the school year comes in to sight, I would like to make you aware that two members of the staff team will sadly be leaving us. We will be saying goodbye to Mrs White, who has been teaching our Key Stage 1 class for part of the week for the past two years. We thank Mrs White for the difference that she has made to our school and for all her hard work and commitment. We will also be saying goodbye Mr Broomfield, who has been part of our support staff team in recent months. We thank Mr Broomfield for the contribution he has made to our KS2 class and, more recently, our Year 1 group during wider reopening. I am sure you will join us in wishing them both all the very best for the future. EXCITING SCIENCE EVENT Please see https://www.innovatemalvern.com/scienceinpark for details of an interesting event that you can take part in from your very own home. STAFFING UPDATE STARTERS From September, we are delighted to be welcoming two new members of staff to the Himbleton team. Miss Albutt will be joining us as a teacher. She will be sharing the teaching of our KS1 class with Mrs Beattie, as well as providing additional teaching capacity throughout the school. Miss Albutt joins us from Leigh and Bransford Primary School. We will also be welcoming Mrs Main to the Early Years team to provide additional support. She will also be taking over our Breakfast Club, as Mrs Ford steps down from this particular role. Mrs Main has previously worked in a range of settings. I have no doubt that they will both be made to feel very welcome here at Himbleton! FAREWELL YEAR 4 We are pleased that we are able to invite our Year 4 children in to school on Wednesday 15 th and Thursday 16 th July for some transition time before they leave. Year 4 parents, please look out for further details which will be shared next week. THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR We are very pleased that, according to government guidance, it is looking likely that we should be able to welcome all year groups back from September, with measures in place to reduce risk. More details of plans will be shared before the end of term. We are so looking forward to having all of the children with us should all go according to plan! WELCOME TO THE SCHOOL FAMILY! This week we have welcomed two new members to the school family; welcome to KerryAnn and Poppy who have joined our Year 1 cohort. We will also be welcoming Zara to this group from September. We hope they will all be very happy with us.
