Bolt Specification
A bolt consists of three parts:• a head• a shank (optional)• a threadThis specification will not handle the head of a bolt.

• Definitions– H = thread type (handedness)– l = the length of the bolt– h = the height of the nut– t = threads per cm– a = thread angle
• A nut will fit on a bolt if the following predicates are true. – H of the bolt = H of the nut– t of the bolt = t of the nut– a of the bolt = a of the nut– l > h
Match specification• Definitions:
– d1 = the bolt’s max thread diameter– d’1 = the bolt’s min thread diameter – d2 = the nut’s max root diameter– d’2 = the nut’s min root diameter– d3 = the nut’s max thread diameter– w1 = the bolt’s max thread width– w’1 = the bolt’s min thread width– w2 = the nut’s max thread width– w’2 = the nut’s min thread width
