Job Opportunity 2 Positions - Junior Resource Ranger (JRR) Crew Coordinator (7 weeks)
Crew Supervisor (6 weeks), Contract based wages.
The Crew Coordinator (CRC) needs to be a person who
is creative, innovative and is an energetic self-starter
who can work as part of a team! The CRC is responsible
for the supervision, personal needs, conduct and safety
of all JRR crew members throughout the summer.
Under the direction of the Community Coordinator,
the Junior Ranger Crew Coordinator will:
Attend JFR meetings and participate in an *orientation
day with the Provincial Coordinator prior to start date.
Work cooperatively with crew members, supervisor
and the camp cook. Maintain connections with daily-
meetings.
Ensure that the camps and training facilities are fully
operational before the Junior Forest Ranger crew
arrives.
Direct and supervise the crew with respect to work
projects, training and recreational outings in the six-
week schedule. The community coordinator must be
with the participants at all times for safety reasons.
Be responsible for the transportation of students to and
from work sites or educational sites.
Financial record keeping, please keep all receipts and
instructor invoices (travel, groceries, misc. items)
Accompany the crew to all training programs ensuring
that rules are followed at all times.
Mediate and resolve conflict when problems arise
under high stress situations.
Conduct final performance evaluations for all staff and
submit a final report for the host community.
Requirements:
Criminal record check
Possess a valid Class 5 Drivers license.
Be accredited in First Aid and CPR training.
Grade 12
Diploma/degree in natural resources or education
would be an asset
Excellent group development, communication,
leadership, conflict management and supervisory skills
Knowledge of natural resource management and
outdoor experience is an asset.
Jobs will be based out of Beauval.
The Crew Supervisor (CS) is the Crew Coordinators
assistant. They both share responsibilities in
supervising the day-to-day activities of the crew. The
CS assists in the direction and daily operations of the
participants throughout the duration of the program
and helps the CRC with transportation/travel,
chaperoning, stocking supplies and problem solving.
Under the direction of the Crew Coordinator (CRC),
the Crew Supervisor will:
Assist in daily camp operation and supervision of the
Junior Forest Ranger students.
Assist the CRC in providing a safe working and
learning environment.
Transport students to and from work sites or
educational sites.
Accompany the crew to all training programs ensuring
that rules are followed at all times.
Mediate and resolve conflict when problems arise

At the end of each day complete journal entries or
notes to support the final report.
Conduct final performance evaluations and submit a
final report for the host community.
Requirements:

Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory
Pursuant to clause 32(1)(a) of the Environment Management and
Protection Act 2002 this Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory
is issued due to a depressurization caused by water main repairs
and therefore the safety of the Village’s drinking water supply
cannot be ensured at all times. Pursuant to Clause 32(1) (b) of the
Environmental Management and Protection Act 2002, consumers
must be notified to:
A) boil all water, used for drinking purposes, for at least one (1)
minute, at a rolling boil, prior to use;
B) boil water to be used for other activities where it may be
ingested, including:
(i) brushing teeth or soaking false teeth;
(ii) dishwashing, unless sanitized in another fashion;
(iii) washing fruits & vegetables;
(iv) food or drink which will not be subsequently heated;
(v) ice cubes;
C) not drink from any public drinking fountains supplied with
water from the public water supply;
D) under most circumstances, not need to boil water used for
household purposes. Adults adolescents and older children may
shower, bathe or wash using tap water but should avoid
swallowing the water. Laundry may be washed in tap water,
either by hand or by machine;
E) ensure that younger children and infants are sponge bathed;
F) use an alternative water source known to be safe, if they do
not wish to boil the water; and
G) consult with your physician if you have cuts or rashes that are
severe before using the water.

Student Groundskeeper/Maintenance Helper
One student is required from July 2 to August 29, 2014, to
perform groundskeeper/maintenance duties at teacherages and
the school in Beauval. The student selected must be
continuing his/her education in 2014.
Duties will include watering and cutting grass, painting fences
and playground equipment, cleaning schoolyards and assisting
caretakers and maintenance personnel as required.
The successful applicant will be required to work 7 1/2 hours
per day at a rate of $15.00 per hour.

The Arena Funds committee is working toward establishing
annual events such as a Music Jamboree (September 1st long
weekend) and quad rallies, etc. This is a heads up so you can

Student Literacy Camp - Term: Summer 2014
Contracted Position: Camp Coordinator & Camp Counselor (Training on July 2-6, followed by 3 weeks of a day camp, and reporting)
The Camp Coordinator will be expected to work as
a small, independent team with Camp Counselors to
deliver a diverse array of indoor and outdoor
literacy-based camp activities in a safe, caring and
fun-filled environment. Coordinator & Counselors
must be prepared to demonstrate initiative and
creativity to engage the community, and involve
parents, Elders and other community members in
the camp curriculum.
Duties, responsibilities & expectations - Day
to Day planning & organizing of camp
activities
Ensuring the safety and well-being of all
camp participants during camp hours
Establishing and maintaining good
relationships with community members,
and soliciting their participation in the
camps.
Maintaining accurate camp records as
required
Work as a camp counselor in some
sessions as required or scheduled.
Managing and maintaining camp budget
and accounts, including all financial
records
Ensuring that all camp documentations are
maintained, and reported as required
Ensuring adherence to all program
directives and guidelines
Other duties as assigned by Frontier
College
Attend and participate in all camp
orientation, training and evaluation
sessions
Mentoring & supervising camp counselors
Keeping daily attendance and tracking
statistics
Submitting weekly camp reports
Implementing evaluation tools and
working with the camp counselors to
collect information and samples from the
campers
Completing and submitting a memory
book
Terms & Remuneration: Camp Coordinator
$20/hour for 35.0 hours of training and
preparation for one week (July 2-6, 2014)
$20/hour for 35.0 for each week of a five
week camp (July 9 - July 31, 2014) Terms & Remuneration: Camp Counselor
$16/hour for 35.0 hours of training and
preparation for one week (July 2-6, 2014)
$16/hour for 35.0 for each week of a three
week camp (July 9-July 31, 2014)
Final two week payment will be upon the
submission of a camp report to Frontier Lodge
as per contract
A completed timesheet will be required for all
hours
Camp coordinators will be required to sign a
reporting contract at the training session.
