ORDER OF WORSHIP
GREETINGS: “This Land is Your Land”
WELCOME AND INTRODUCTION SONG: "God of the Sparrow" v1, 2, 4 & 6 ELW #740
SCRIPTURE READING: Psalm 107:1-9
1 O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever. 2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, those he redeemed from trouble 3 and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south. 4 Some wandered in desert wastes, finding no way to an inhabited town; 5 hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted within them. 6 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress; 7 he led them by a straight way, until they reached an inhabited town. 8 Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works to humankind. 9 For he satisfies the thirsty, and the hungry he fills with good things.
REFLECTION
o What is your favorite dessert? o Have you been to an actual desert? What was your experience there? o What speaks to you in this Psalm and how have you experienced God providing in
the desert times of your life? SONG: “Desert Song” CHORUS I will bring praise. I will bring praise. No weapon formed against me shall remain. I will rejoice. I will declare. God is my victory, and He is here. VERSE 1 This is my prayer in the desert, When all that's within me feels dry. This is my prayer in my hunger and need. My God is the God who provides.
CHORUS VERSE 2 This is my prayer in the fire, In weakness or trial or pain. There is a faith proved of more worth than gold. So refine me, Lord, through the flame. CHORUS
PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE: “All the Way My Savior Leads Me” VERSE 1 All the way my Savior leads me What have I to ask beside? Can I doubt His tender mercies? Who through life has been my guide Heavenly peace, divinest comfort Ere by faith in Him to dwell For I know whate'er befall me Jesus doeth all things well CHORUS You lead me, and keep me from falling. You carry me close to Your heart, And surely Your goodness and mercy will follow me.
VERSE 2 All of the way my Savior leads me Cheers each winding path I tread Gives me strength for ev’ry trial Feeds me with the living bread Though my weary steps may falter And my soul a-thirst may be Gushing from a rock before me Though a spring of joy I see Though a spring of joy I see CHORUS You lead me and keep me from falling You carry me close to Your heart And surely Your goodness and mercy will follow me
LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us; And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
forever and ever. Amen. OFFERING BLESSING
