Holy TrinityHoly TrinityHoly TrinityHoly Trinity

The feast of the Holy Trinity closely reflects the reality of genuine family

life or community life. For it is in a family that we not only belong but also

where we discover, nurture, and affirm our own unique and individual

personalities. It is a family that makes us individuals, and it is we as

individuals who make our family.

Men and Women, who are truly in love, unite themselves in the mystery of

each other. Loving husbands and wives learn more about each other every

year, but they also learn that there are those hidden parts in their inner selves

that only begin to be recognized after many years of deep love. Each

individual is also a mystery, which is a delight.

The unity of the Holy Trinity means that the father, Son and Holy Spirit

communicates their entire selves to the others. They don't just share some

points of view, information, or experiences: they actually communicate their

whole selves, their entire divine persons.

God is a total unity of three persons, an everlasting community of living

love, of mutual self-giving. There is no holding back, there are no hidden

agendas, there is no manipulation - the inner life of God is absolute, eternal

and unlimited self-donation. That’s what God is: three perfect divine

persons who perfectly share the unique divine nature.

This Feast invites us to live a God-like life, which means:

Let us forgive rather than condemn.

Build-up and affirm rather than tear down.

We must see the best, not the worst.

We shall be self-sacrificial and not self-centered.

Let us be giving rather than grasping.

We must offer hope, not in despair.

We must heal rather than wound.

All of this is best affirmed and nurtured in what we know of as a family.

May the Holy Trinity, Bless you with peace and unity!

Dear Working With Children Cardholder,

The Diocese recognises that all children are vulnerable. The core belief of the Catholic Church challenges us to care for all those who need protection. Once you have read the Safeguarding Handbook, it is now essential that you complete FORM 2 and FORM 18 and return to the Parish office or place in the sealed box located in the church on the table near Our Lady’s altar by the 1st July 2019. Signed copies of these forms are a requirement to support your ongoing role within the parish. Copies of FORM 2 and FORM 18 can be collected at the table near Our Lady’s altar. Thank you for your assistance. Suzi Lee and Jill Ward Safeguarding Officers

ASSISTANCE FOR ELDERLY/HOMEBOUND (PPC SURVEY FEEDBACK)ASSISTANCE FOR ELDERLY/HOMEBOUND (PPC SURVEY FEEDBACK)ASSISTANCE FOR ELDERLY/HOMEBOUND (PPC SURVEY FEEDBACK)ASSISTANCE FOR ELDERLY/HOMEBOUND (PPC SURVEY FEEDBACK)

On reviewing the feedback provided in the recent PPC survey, the most pressing area of need identified within the Parish was the provision of assistance to the elderly and homebound. Types of help suggested included: Priests/Parishioners visiting for a cup of tea/coffee, providing meals, collecting and dropping home for Masses etc. In order to provide this assistance the Parish needs to know:

the name and contact details of the individual needing assistance (or contact details of a family member/friend), what type of assistance is needed, when/how often is the assistance required and has the individual agreed to accepting help.

This will enable the PPC to direct requests to the appropriate group or to determine if training of individuals is necessary to assist. If you, or someone you know requires support please contact the Parish office on 9581 2061 between 8am – 12.30pm or 1 – 4pm, Monday to Friday. If you are willing to provide assistance through visitation (with or without the Priests accompaniment) or some other form of assistance, please provide your details to the Parish Office ( [email protected] or phone— 9581 2061 between 8am – 12.30pm or 1 – 4pm, Monday to Friday).

WINTER APPEALWINTER APPEALWINTER APPEALWINTER APPEAL Our Catholic community has always been very generous by supporting as we follow Jesus’ example to look after the poor and marginalised. Our 2019 theme is “Pain of Poverty”, with an emphasis on the impact of poverty on older Australians. Poverty often comes with the added burden of loneliness and social isolation when you can’t afford to go out. This is particularly true for older people like Ruby featured on our posters, as mobility becomes limited and social networks decrease. Social isolation can have health impacts and the Winter Appeal will highlight the support that Vinnies provides especially during the colder months.

Please find the envelope on your seats/or at the church door. Please make your donation and hand the envelope into the collection, to the parish office or to our Vinnies Support Centre at 23 Davey St any weekday between 10am and 1pm – phone 9535 9035. The envelope can also be mailed, but only if does not contain cash. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible. Thanking you all for your continued support of Vinnies in Mandurah. Be assured that every cent of your donation is used here for the Mandurah and Dawesville communities.

Together with another volunteer from The Compassionate Friends Mandurah I will be attending this conference in Sydney next week. It will be interesting to learn of all the new agencies across Australia who are helping people deal with the aftermath of the suicide death of a loved one. In addition to improving and updating our knowledge we hope to bring back some resources to help those who come to us. We are only able to go because we’ve been granted bursary (free) places and are so grateful to the conference organisers for that opportunity. The Compassionate Friends Australia has also been granted a concessional display which will enable the chapters from all states to show conference delegates the work that our organisation is doing. Your prayers are welcome. Margot McAllister, P.R. Manager, The Compassionate Friends Mandurah Inc.

The Italian Community of Mandurah holds a social evening every first Friday of the month for all parishioners and friends of every culture and na-tionality. We meet at the Parish Centre of Our Lady’s Assumption Catholic Church. There is a small fee of $5 per person to cover cost. All remaining funds are donated to the Parish.

Time: 6:30 pm to late Food and drinks: BYO drinks and a plate for main meal to be shared and set out as a buffet. Tea and coffee provided. Our next get together will be on the 5th July. Love to see you there. God bless! For further details please contact: Rosa 0418 910 230 / Angie 0417 094 136
