There is lack of fully functional containerized Terminal in Orissa for handling of EXIM container.

Presently we have to dispatch maximum number of Import containers from Vizag to Jajpur ( approx 550 KM ). This increases TAT for vehicle movement

We have already started railway siding inside Jindal plant in Nov 2015 . We have to dispatch approx 50% of Import containers by road due to uncertainty of Rail movement , paying higher transportation cost .

Local association also interfering in logistics dispatched of the cargo causing inconvenience to the manufacturers .

Many a times huge volume of containers arriving at a time at Vizag creating difficulties to the Consignee . Due to higher turn around time Consignee is paying huge Detention to the shipping lines.

CFS/Yards are not equipped with modern infrastructures

En-route theft and pilferage is also a major issue

The logistics firms are moving from a traditional setup to the integration of IT and technology to their operations to reduce the costs incurred as well as to meet the service demands. The growth of the Indian logistics sector depends upon its soft infrastructure like education, training and policy framework as much as the hard infrastructure.

To support India’s fast paced economy growth of logistics industry is very essential. It is estimated that the Indian logistics industry will continue to show robust growth of 10-15% annually, leading the pace of growth of the economy at large.

With the implementation of GST, the logistics companies will have smooth logistics operation . It will not only save the transit time but also can save huge amount for the transportation of goods in whole India . Thus, all this has paved the way for further growth of Logistics and Warehousing industry in the coming years.
