EnglishThe World of Jumanji

In 1981 Chris Van Allsberg wrote a book called Jumanji. In the story, a brother and sister discover a game that turns fiction into real life. Whatever square you land on in the

game brings a new challenge to overcome. Worse still, the challenge becomes a reality for everyone around.

Follow this link to original movie trailer for Jumanji in 1995 and you can see the consequences of playing the game.

Week 3 – Multiplication and DivisionEach week has 5 lessons, which follow a

structured order. The lessons begin with a child (and adult) - friendly explanation of the key

Aim to complete three lessons every week (or 5 if you can/would like to)

If you are unable to print out the sheets, don’t worry, just write down your answers on a blank sheet of paper where possible. The answers are

also available on the website. You should complete week 1 activities before

moving onto week 2.

3. Causal relationships: once you have graphed your data discuss what you can see and try to find

patterns in your data (use the word correlation where appropriate). Can you come up with a

scientific ‘hypotheses’ as to why these patterns are evident, e.g. ‘smaller species have a shorter

gestation than larger species because… ‘
