How to join the NEW

National & State Chapter Forums

For over a year, Oath Keepers has organized its local chapters using a system called “Ning”.

Due to changing circumstances, we have decided to move away from this system. We are

now using a system that was designed in-house by our Internet experts, and we hope this new

system will work better for us as we strive to

Reach, Teach, and Inspire...

Joining the new forum is easy– just follow the ten steps below. You do not have to be a paid member of Oath Keepers to access the State Forums (you will need to be a paid member to access the National Forums).

It may help to print this “How-to” document on paper before you begin.

Step 1:

On your computer, open a new window in your web-browser program (Internet Explorer,

Firefox, Safari, etc.). Type in the address: “ www.oathkeepers.net”, and press Enter.

This is the main page of the new system.

(Note: The old website, www.oathkeepers.org , is still operational, and is the main site for the public.)

Step 2:

Scroll down until you see, “Choose a state from the pull-down menu.” From the menu

below that, select your state, and click, “Go!”.

Step 3:

This new page is the main page for your state. You may want to bookmark this page for

future reference. As an example, the Nevada page is shown here:

Find the link on the page that says, “Register” (shown in blue above), and click on it. This

brings you to the entry page for the new National & State Chapter Forums:

Step 4:

This entry page contains basic information about the new forum. Read through it, and then

click, “Please Click Here to fill out the Pre-Registration form.”

This should bring up a new page with a “Pre-Registration” form to fill out. Go through the

form, and fill out as much as you can:

• username: This is how your name will appear publicly on the Forum. You can use

your real name, or a pseudonym.

• Real name: This is your real name. It will not be made public unless you choose to

make it so. Please enter your full first and last names.

• Phone number, E-mail address, and Address: Fill these out completely, as directed.

• State: Select your state from the pull-down menu.

• Membership info: If you are a dues-paying member of Oath Keepers, click Yes.

Otherwise, click No.

• If you have a membership number, enter it in the box.

If you have not yet received your number in the mail, please enter “Pending”.

If you have NOT paid dues, skip this step and leave the box blank.

• Select the method you used to pay your membership dues.

This helps the administrator find your account.

If you did not pay dues, select N/A.

• Image Verification: The last step is to prevent spammer computers from signing up

automatically.

In the box, type the two words you see (they will most likely be DIFFERENT from the

example above). If you cannot read the words, click the spinning arrow button ( ) to

get a different set of words, or click the speaker button ( ) to listen to some words.

• When you are done filling in the form, click “Submit”.

Step 5:

If all went well, you should see the “redirect” screen for a few moments:

(If you have any errors with the form, follow the on-screen instructions to fix them.)

You should then see the Oath Keepers rules page:

Read the rules, select the box to acknowledge your agreement, and then click “Register”.

Step 6:

Final registration page:

Fill out the form:• Re-enter your username.

• Type (and re-type) your password.

• Type (and re-type) your e-mail address.

• Complete the “Image Verification” as before.

• Select your Time Zone.

• Select your e-mail preferences.

Click “Complete Registration”

Step 7:

You should see this message (with your new username instead of “ExampleOK”):

IMPORTANT: Check your e-mail account for an e-mail from Oath Keepers. Open the e-

mail, and click the link provided under the message, “To complete your registration, please

visit this URL:”

You should now see the message:

Wait for an e-mail from Oath Keepers to signify you have been approved.

Once this e-mail arrives in your e-mail account (Subject: Account validated at Oath

Keepers!) your are officially registered on the new forum.

Now, you must join your state chapter (next page...).

Step 8:

Open a new window in your web-browser program.

Type in the address: “ www.oathkeepers.net/forum/index.php”, and press Enter.

You will need to log in. In the upper right-hand corner, enter your User Name and your

Password (the same ones you entered in step 6). Select “Remember Me?” and click “Log

In”. You should briefly see a “Redirecting... Thank-You” page, and then the forum should

load.

Step 9:

The new page that opens (after you get the message thanking you for logging in) is the front

page of the forum. In the upper left-hand area, look for where it says, “User CP”. Click that.

This takes you to your “Control Panel”. On the left-hand list of options, click “Group

Memberships”.

Then scroll down to your state and click the button next to it that says, “Join Group”. Again,

Nevada is used below as an example; select the state you reside in.

Scroll to the bottom, and click “Submit”.

Step 10:

Now, enter your reason for joining this state group. This helps the moderators identify you.

In most cases, your reason will simply be that you live in the state, and therefore you wish to

join its group. Enter a brief reason, and click, “Send Request”.

That’s it!

When a state moderator approves you, you will be up and running. If you have paid Oath

Keeper membership dues, you should now have access to all national forums, plus the forums

for your state group. If you have not paid membership dues, you will be able to see only your

state forums.

Be sure to bookmark the forum, so you can get back to it in the future.

Click around, and have fun! You can open any forum or message by clicking on its title

(for example, to read the tutorials, click on the words, “Forum Instructions and Tutorials” in

the figure below).

Start with the section called “The Basics”, found on the main page. Introduce yourself (if you

like), read the tutorials, and check out the “FAQs” (“frequently asked questions”).

If you have questions not answered there, look for the “Support” forum, also on the main

page. There, you can find directions from the administrator and questions posted by other

users. You can even post a question of your own.

Look at the options under your “User CP”. There are many ways to customize your account.
