1 New OX7-2 Module

In the last few months we have completely changed the sound of the OX7 drawbar sound. Look forward to a new, fresh WERSI drawbar sound with the OX7-2. Initially, not much has changed visually. The surface got a new, darker background. The functions are identical to the old OX7.

1.1 The new drawbar sound of the OX7-2

For the development of the new OX7-2, the older OX7 drawbar module was also used to take over the coordination of the foot positions. Every single note on the keyboard is differently loud even within one foot position. Four rotor types have been added, adjustable volume for the percussion, KeyClick can be freely selected from four variations and you can choose from three variations for attack and release. Another interesting novelty concerns Slow / Fast for vibrato. This function can now also be controlled with the Slow / Fast control panel button. Note: If you have saved your own OX7 drawbar settings in the user area, they will largely be adopted in the new OX7-2.

1.2 Additional setting options

By sliding to the left or the arrow to the right next to the OX7-2 control panel, you can reach further setting options with which you can adjust the drawbar sound even more according to your wishes. If you save a new OX7-2 sound in the user area, these additional setting options are also saved in your own sound.

Four types of the rotor effect The OX7-2 provides you with four different rotor types. As with the mechanical models, there are differences in the range of rotation speeds for the horn and the bass speaker. Or the frequency response and the depth of the rotor effect are different. Type 1: Standard rotor Type 2: Bass emphasized rotor sounded with great deep effects of the two rotors. The rotor speeds for

Slow and Fast are a little slower. Bigger stereo effect. Type 3: Rotor sound in which the mids are more emphasized. The horn turns very quickly at 7Hz. Moderate

stereo effect. Type 4: Rotor sound in which the upper mids are emphasized by means of a higher resonance frequency.

Moderate stereo effect.

Rotor fast / slow Here you can choose whether you can use the Rotor Slow / Fast control panel button to switch only the rotor, only the vibrato or both rotor and vibrato together between fast and slow.

Information: With the older WERSI instruments such as SPECTRA, DELTA or HELIOS there was no rotor simulation, but the WERSI VOICE. In addition to the normal fast vibrato speed (Fast), there was also a slow speed (Slow) for vibrato. And as with a rotor, the WERSI VOICE (vibrato) could also be switched between slow and fast with a slow / fast control panel button.

Volume of the percussion Select the desired volume here from the levels soft, standard and loud.

Key click variations Here you can choose between four different clicks.

Attack and sustain settings You can switch on attack, release or both using the display buttons Attack and Release under ENVELOPE. How long the attack or the release is can be set here in three stages. Attack length: With the function Attack you can make the start of the notes smoother. With Standard the sound starts immediately. With medium and long two settings are available which let the sound swing in more gently. Sustain Length: With the Sustain function you can lengthen the decay of the notes. With standard, the sound ends immediately after releasing the key. With medium and long two settings are available that let the sound fade away longer.

2 New functions

2.1 Glide-Effect (Hawaii)

The three new entries Glide Effect Upper, Lower and Solo Manual are also found under the foot switch functions. When the corresponding foot switch is pressed (On), the pitch changes up or down depending on the set interval. When the footswitch is released (off), playback will revert to normal pitch.

Interval: Determines the range of the pitch change in semitone steps. Positive values shift the pitch up and negative values shift the pitch up. On: Determines the speed in milliseconds at which the pitch changes when the pedal is pressed. Off: Determines the speed in milliseconds at which the pitch changes when the pedal is released. With the foot switch factory presets "07 - Glide Effect", the Hawaii effect is placed on the upper manual with the right foot switch on the expression pedal. Or try the glide effect using the factory total preset “Pedal Steel Guitar” on the “Guitars” bank (total preset number 37). Which selectors does the glide effect have an effect on? You can determine which selectors the effect has an effect on. Here is an example: You have split the lower manual and the glide effect is on the lower manual. Now you want the glide effect to only affect the sounds to the right of the split point. By double-clicking on the desired selector on the left, the "PROFI Manual Controller" display is opened. There you can set the “Pitch Wheel” button to Off.

2.2 Assignment of CC and drawbars with other functions

With this extension, new functions can be assigned to the CC controller on the left and the drawbars on the right. Examples:

- Assign functions such as "WERSI Chord Volume" to the drawbar CC on the left or control the effects for the microphone with this drawbar.

- The sine drawbars are labeled with the numbers 1 to 16. Do you need e.g. not the drawbars for the lower manual (10 to 16), you can control the percussion for the upper manual here.

- If you are editing a MIDI sequence, you can also use the drawbars 1 to 16 for the volumes of the 16 sequencer tracks.

As with the sound effects and foot switches, all settings can be saved in SubPresets.

To call up the settings page, press on the SETTINGS field in the main display and then on ASSIGN Drawbars. The following display appears:

1 CC WersiChord Volume Here the CC drawbar is assigned with the volume for the WERSI Chord sound.

2 CC Send Effects Microphone

Here the CC drawbar is assigned with the send effects for the microphone input.

3 Volumes Sequencer The upper and lower manual drawbars are placed on the sixteen tracks of the sequencer.

4 Volumes Styles The drawbars for the upper manual control the volumes of the nine style tracks.

5 Percussion upper manual The drawbars for the lower manual control the percussion of the OX7-2 organ.

6 Micophone Microphone effects 1 and 2 as well as equalizer

Note: You can find out which functions are available and how the factory presets are assigned in the “OAX data list” instructions.

Define your own assignments

To assign a new function to a drawbar, move the corresponding drawbar once. Or press the corresponding drawbar on the touch display. The display shows that the drawbar is ready for programming. In our example, the drawbar CC is selected on the left.

D Now press on the display field below "Assigned function". The selection field opens with all the functions that are available. Select the function you want from the list.

The display jumps back to the previous page and the selected function is shown. In our example we have set the volume of the real drums to the CC drawbar. You can find a detailed list of which functions are available in the "Data list" instructions. If desired, you can now assign new functions to other drawbars. You are already familiar with saving such presets from the areas of "Assigning foot switches" or "Assigning effect buttons".

Using the drawbars while editing

These temporary occupancies are special. Within the editors for "Styles" (Chapter 6 Programming Instructions) and "Sequences" (Chapter 3.1 Programming Instructions) you can use the drawbars to set the volume and then save them later. In the "Edit Sound" editor (Chapter 5 Programming Instructions), you can control the values in the Standard Controller and Sound Controller areas while programming. Note: These values are not saved in the preset for the foot switches or a total preset. Choose here once whether you want to use the drawbars in the editors or not.

3.1 New style package from Robert Bartha

A new style package is available with version 2.8. The styles were programmed by Robert Bartha, who brought his experience as a music producer to the table. The package with 10 new styles is available for € 149. Schlagerdiamant: All sorts of german modern pop songs (Schlager) can be played - including international ones. Try playing well-known evergreens in this beat as a "remix"! Schlagerpop: Ideally suited for all German pop hits (Schlager) - from Andrea Berg to Roland Kaiser to Beatrice Egli. The typical Schlagerbeat simply goes with all known hits! Raggaeton: Sounds great with Latin songs and hits such as B. "Sweat (A lala lala long) or Sunshine Reggae… Apropos - the beat gives all known reggae hits a modern touch! Shakafunk: The funk soul heart should beat faster here! Songs by Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind & Fire as well as many funk-soul classics groove with this beat the way it should be! Good Feeling Blues: 12/8 feeling in 4/4 time - all "Slow Rock" titles, blues and much more fit into this. Just try your slow rock tracks with this beat!
