    Steve Jobs: On the Company

It's not about money. It's about the people you have, how you're led, and how much you get

it. Apple is about taking state-of-the-art technology and making it easy for people.

    - Employee Mentality

Apple is one of those companies where people work on an almost religious level of

commitment. There are probably a handful of large companies that can command this, such

as Disney or Google. Most workers, no matter how simple their job might be, truly feel they

are changing the world with whatever they are doing.

    - Innovation at Apple

Innovation at Apple is associated with its corporate culture. At Apple, the work culture is

driven by a passion for new products with no end to challanges & opportunities

    -'Work Hard,Play Hard' Ethic

The work environment at Apple is relaxed & casual but there's a very strong commitment to

deadlines. Some ex-employees have summarized the work culture at apple as "fun yet

    demanding ".

    - Result-oriented Approach

Employees at Apple run their own show & work in a challenging & creative environment.

Apple has adopted a style that is not too formal or hierarchical and a more result-oriented

approach which has worked best for them.

    - Career Advancement

Customers arent the only ones who get to discover new things at the Apple Retail Store.

Every location provides regular training, which counts as work time, to keep you up to date

on the latest Apple and third-party products. You can also get training to help you move

ahead as a Genius, Creative, or Manager or to transition to one of those tracks from your

    current position.

-Dont make people do things, make them betterat doing thingsIn an interview, Steve Jobs revealed, My job is to not be easy on people. My job is to make

them better. My job is to take these great people we have and to push them and make them

even better, coming up with more aggressive visions of how it could be. Apple employees

Ive known are either operating at the top of their game, or think they are. Either way, it

    works.

    -Think different.

Apple doesnt do anything according to anyone elses timetable. Its product launches and

company events happen when it suits Apple. It even shuns the venerable Consumer

Electronics Show. Apple follows the beat of its own drum. How things should be done or are

done elsewhere dont count. Apple finds its own way. As Jobs said in a Stanford University

commencement speech, Dont let the noise of others opinions drown out your own inner

    voice.

    Personality of Steve Jobs:

    - At most companies, the red-faced, tyrannical boss is an outdated archetype, a caricature

from the life of Dagwood. Not at Apple. Whereas the rest of the tech industry may

motivate employees with carrots, Jobs is known as an inveterate stick man. Even the

most favored employee could find themselves on the receiving end of a tirade. Insiders

have a term for it: the "hero-shithead roller coaster." Says Edward Eigerman, a former

Apple engineer, "More than anywhere else I've worked before or since, there's a lot of

    concern about being fired."

    - But Jobs' employees remain devoted. That's because his autocracy is balanced by his

famous charisma he can make the task of designing a power supply feel like a mission

from God. Andy Hertzfeld, lead designer of the original Macintosh OS, says Jobs

imbued him and his coworkers with "messianic zeal." And because Jobs' approval is so

hard to win, Apple staffers labor tirelessly to please him. "He has the ability to pull the

best out of people," says Ratzlaff, who worked closely with Jobs on OS X for 18 months.

"I learned a tremendous amount from him."

    - No other company has proven as adept at giving customers what they want before they

know they want it. Undoubtedly, this is due to Jobs' unique creative vision. But it's also a

function of his management practices. By exerting unrelenting control over his

employees, his image, and even his customers, Jobs exerts unrelenting control over his

products and how they're used. And in a consumer-focused tech industry, the products

are what matter. "Everything that's happening is playing to his values," says Geoffrey

Moore, author of the marketing tome Crossing the Chasm. "He's at the absolute epicenterof the digitization of life. He's totally in the zone."

    Myers-Briggs personality test

    Following are the 4 parameters:

Extraverted (E) Versus Introverted (I) Steve jobs is extroverted personality since he is not

shy, he is sociable and outgoing.

Sensing (S) Versus Intuitive (N) He is intuitive as he always focuses on the big picture and

he wanted to change the way in which people communicate with each other.

Thinking (T) Versus Feeling (F) He is thinking as he takes rational decisions most of the

    times.

Judging (J) Versus Perceiving (P) He is perceiving as he tends to like a flexible and

spontaneous approach to life and prefer to keep their options open.

And hence his personality type is ENTP.

    Conclusion:

Jean-Louis Gassee, Former President of Apple Products

In the Old Testament there was the first apple, the forbidden fruit of the Tree of

Knowledge, which with one taste sent Adam, Eve, and all mankind into the great current ofHistory. The second Apple was Isaac Newton's, the symbol of our entry into the age of

modern science. The Apple Computer symbol was not chosen purely at random, it represents

the third Apple, the one that widens the paths of knowledge leading toward the future.

Ex-Employees: About Apple as a Company

    1. Working at Apple is a whole different thing. Because whatever you do here, you

play a part in creating some of the best-loved technology on the planet. And in

helping people discover all the amazing things they can do with it. You could call it

work, or you could call it a mission. We call it a blast.

    2. Apple provides their employees with great growth opportunities. The management

lets you achieve and develop on your own, without pushing or prodding you into roles

you don't necessarily want. They expect you to own your own development and to

    push yourself to be better.

    3. The best thing about working at Apple is the ability to be who you are. Youruniqueness can shine and you can be the best you. Everyone strives to help each grow

as better workers and individuals. There isn't a stupid questions and managers

motivate you to ask so you can learn. The relationships you build within Apple feels

like you've been developing them for years!

    4. To a large extent, Apple is amazing. I was within the tech support call center

management, and both my employees and my coworkers were brilliant and amazing.

The "bosses" tend to also be great people, with an occasional (albeit notable)exception. They do respect work/life balance, and there's a hefty program for

development in terms of you career within the company. On the corporate side, there's

also intangible benefits like "casual attire" (namely, don't come to work naked),

monthly parties (with and without alcohol), an on-site gym, etc.
