the Beach

A popular Connecticut park and its 234 acres of wetlands, woodlands and beach on Long Island Sound will

be shut down all day Monday so that President Obama can use the location as a base for fundraising nearby.

The Sherwood Island State Park in Westport, Connecticut will have to turn away thousands of bathers so that

Obama can get to and from his events, including a $35,800 per head bash at the 9,000-square-foot,

$8.3-million waterfront estate of movie mogul Harvey Wienstein, according to The Connecticut Post.

Heres a look at what people will be missing:

The Obama incursion is already creating an uproar in the state, according to the Post.

Could you imagine if a Republican ever did such a thing? Theyd be screaming from every corner,said House Minority Leader Lawrence F. Cafero Jr. This is supposed to be the party and the president of the

people? To close this state park in August for purely partisan political reasons is outrageous. People are going

to be on their one-week vacation and they cant get into Sherwood Island?

The state senator representing the area that includes the park, which is set on a peninsula that juts out into the

sound, said other less intrusive landing points were available to the president.

Obamas travel to Connecticut kicks off another heavy week of fundraising and campaigning that will include

a two-day trip to Colorado Wednesday and Thursday.

They have to shut down the whole park for this campaign cash grab? Shutting down a 234 acre state

park for an entire day for a political soiree is overkill. Guess its so they have the whole beach to

themselves. Or maybe its like Harry Reids theory on the DC visitor center. If they close off the entirepark, they wont have the smell of us little people wafting over the pristine beaches

Michelle decide suits them? We should lobby to set a whole new stringent set of rules during

election year and

keep freeloaders like the Obamas from using the USA as their private

millionaires/billionaires can really RELATE to Americans? No, I dont think so. They have no idea

Romney got his wealth by working and taking risks. When a Bain employees daughter went

missing, Romney shut down the whole company and brought everyone on a mission to find her.

He knows the value of a life. There is nothing remotely similar that Obama has ever done for

another human being.

Whether you vote or not, you are making a choice that affects us all. Obviously you will not be

Obama, not the average American. Obama moans about the effects of global warming while dumping

tons of carbon in the atmosphere to jet-set to his next vacation spot (when hes not too busy golfing).

When he arrives home to see the latest barrage of poor economic numbers on his desk, he queues the

with a cold hot dog and warm soda for lunch. This way the peasants can feel like they are part of the

Strange that you kept coming to Sherwood Island when you could have paid a fee and gone to

Compo Beach a few miles closer to NYC. Sherwood Island always have had a muddy bottom,

lots of rocks, but its public and there is no outrageous parking fee. Obama just shows his

contempt for the average Joe by having the beach closed during a heat wave. No mention of this

closure in WestportNow town paper.
