    OUTBACK XACKGday mates! My names Outback Xackwith an "X" cause "X" can make the"Z" sound too! Im an explorer fromthe Land Down Under and today Imgoing on an adventure in my home

    country, Australia. Would you liketo be my sidekick?...You dontsound very excited. Do you want togo exploring with me?...

    Covering his ear, he cringes while being blasted backwardsby the apparent sound from the responding audience.

    OUTBACK XACKWow, I think I heard you that time!First we need to practice ouradventure skills. We need topractice climbing, swimming, andmarching on our bums! Will you allpractice those things with me?...

    Blasted backwards by sound, he covers his ears again.

    Xack points into the distance.

    He begins the actions for the marching song.

    Ayers Rock! Lets try that one moretime. Lets all say Ayers Rock, onthe count of three. One. Two.Three. Ayers Rock! Spot on mates!Ayers Rock is one of the largestmountains in all of Australia!

    He freezes.

    OUTBACK XACK(Whispering)

    Shh! Does anyone hear that?

    Xack looks around.

    OUTBACK XACKI think its coming from behindAyers Rock! Im scared. Should Ilook behind Ayers Rock?

    He tiptoes up to Ayers Rock, peaks behind the rock, thenflinches back towards the camera.

    OUTBACK XACK(Whispering)

    Yikes! Theres something backthere. Should I look again?... O.k!

    Xack peeks behind the rock again, then pulls his head backin laughter.

    OUTBACK XACK(Whispering)

    Ha, ha! Its just my friendKangaroo Lou! Hes sleeping.

    He takes another peak, then draws back towards the camera inmore laughter.

    OUTBACK XACKHa, ha! Kangaroo Lou is dreaming.

    Again, he looks behind Ayers Rock, then back to the camera.

    OUTBACK XACKHes dreaming about hopping. Ha ha!Kangaroo Lou is funny! Wake upKangaroo Lou, its Outback Xack andmy explorer friends.

    Xack stares behind Ayers Rock, then turns back to thecamera.

    He looks behind Ayers Rock again.

    OUTBACK XACKHes stirring about. Kangaroo Lou,its Outback Xack and some explorerfriends. Well come on out. Itso.k. buddy, its just us.(to camera)Hes being shy.(to Kangaroo Lou)Whats that? Oh.(to camera) Hesscared. On the count of three lets

    say, dont be afraid, were yourfriends. One. Two. Three. Dont beafraid, were youre friends!

    Kangaroo Lou pokes his head out from behind the rock andflinches.

    KANGAROO LOUUh? Ahh!

    Lou jerks back behind the rock.

    OUTBACK XACK

    Dont be scared mate! Were yourfriends. Come on out.

    Bashfully, Kangaroo Lou comes out from behind Ayers Rock. Hespeaks three times faster than Xack in a raspy voice.

    KANGAROO LOUIm sorry I shouldnt have gottenscared. Im not so special am I?

    Lou drops his head. Xack addresses the camera.

    OUTBACK XACKDid you all hear that?...KangarooLou thinks hes not special. IsKangaroo Lou special?... Yes he is!(to Lou) Kangaroo Lou, youre superspecial times two! Why are youblue?

    KANGAROO LOUI was playing with my new boomerangearlier today, when I threw it farfar away, and it didnt return tomy dismay, and I dont have time tolook today, because I have a

    hopping lesson with InstructorSloppaway!

    OUTBACK XACKCrikey! Did you all hear that?Kangaroo Lou threw his newboomerang far far away, and itdidnt return to his dismay. Hmm.Wait a minute! Sidekicks, how wouldall of you like to help me, helpKangaroo Lou find his newboomerang?... O.k. great! KangarooLou, I have an idea that might help

    you! Wed like to help you findyour new boomerang!

    KANGAROO LOUHip hip hooray!

    Kangaroo Lou jumps for joy.

    KANGAROO LOUMy boomerang flew over Ayers rock,and into the Eucalyptus tree thathad three big brown branches bentlike a knee!

    Lou points to the left.

    OUTBACK XACKDid you all hear that mates? Whichway did the boomerang go?...Spot onmates!

    He points into the distance.

    KANGAROO LOUIt was purple with gold polka dots!

    Gotta go!

    OUTBACK XACKWe gotta go too if we want to findthe boomerang before the sun goesdow- Wait a minute! Do you knowwhat a boomerang looks like? Itlooks like one of my favoriteletters in the alphabet. Its av-ery v-ery cool letter. Thatsright its the letter V. This is myown boomerang.

    He produces a WHITE BOOMERANG.

    OUTBACK XACKDo you know how a boomerang works?Spot on mates! You throw it way outinto the sky...

    He throws the boomerang, watches it soar, and catches itupon return.

    OUTBACK XACK...and it comes right back to you.You dont even need a friend to

    catch it and throw it back like aball. Which way did Kangaroo LousBoomerang go?

    Xack looks at Ayers Rock.

    OUTBACK XACKThats right explorers it went overAyers Rock and if we are here, andwe need to go that way, what do youthink we need to do to getthere?...

    The Marching Song begins.

    EXT. FOREST - DAY

    He stops in front of FIVE EUCALYPTUS TREES whose branchesvary in number from one to five from left to right.

    OUTBACK XACKAlright mates these must be theEucalyptus trees Kangaroo Lou wastalking about. Which Eucalyptustree has three big brown branchesbent like a knee? Lets count thebranches to find out.

    He points and counts out loud, beginning with the tree onthe left and moving to the right.

    OUTBACK XACKOne. That tree has one big branch.(moving on to the next tree) One,two. That tree has two bigbranches. One, two, three. Thattree has three big brown branchesbent like a knee! That must be thetree! Do you see a boomerang?...Look to your left!

    Shading his eyes, he looks left.

    OUTBACK XACKLook up in the tree!

    He looks up.

    OUTBACK XACKLook to your right!

    He looks right.

    OUTBACK XACKDont look at the sun silly, youlllose your sight! Hm, I dont see apurple polka dotted boomeranganywhere. I dont know if wellever find the boomerang.

    He drops his head towards the ground.

    INSERT SFX: Leaves rustle.

    OUTBACK XACKShhh! Does anyone hear that?.

    With his index finger over his mouth he looks around.

    OUTBACK XACKWait a minute! This looks just likethe Eucalyptus tree that my friendPaula the Koala likes to hang outin. Lets all say Eucalyptus tree onthe count of three. One. Two.Three. Eucalyptus tree! Maybe if wefind my friend Paula the Koalashell be able to help us find theboomerang.

    INSERT SFX: Leaves rustle for two seconds.

    He freezes then searches back and forth.

    OUTBACK XACKPaula the Koala is that you I hear?

    INSERT SFX: Leaves rustle for three seconds.

    OUTBACK XACKPaula! Paula! Is that you?...Paula?... It sounds like shes introuble! Paula where are you!

    He looks around frantically then freezes and gasps whilestaring at a large fallen log whose thickness is the heightof Xacks hip.

    OUTBACK XACKIt looks like Paula is stuck underthis log!

    He scurries behind the fallen log, bends over and cantquite get his arms around the log.

    OUTBACK XACKRemember mates always lift withyour legs not your back! Ok, Imgoing to try to lift this log offof Paula! Stay back mates! This isfar too dangerous for youngexplorers.

    He tries to lift the log.

    OUTBACK XACKUh!

    The log doesnt budge.

    OUTBACK XACKHold on Paula! Im going to lift

    this log!

    He squats and tries to lift the log again, this time Xackflutters his lips while exhaling, creating a farting sound.

    OUTBACK XACKOh wow mates! This log is reallyheavy! Hold on Paula!

    Xack attempts another lift, producing another farting soundfrom his lips.

    A Koala bear emerges from the Eucalyptus tree above Xack. He

    is oblivious to the koalas presence and doesnt budge thelog.

    Snickering quietly from above, the koala watches Xackstruggle.

    OUTBACK XACKOk, mates! One more try and Ishould have it! Uhhhh!

    Red in the face, he lets out a huge farting sound whileexhaling from his mouth, and falls over.

    The log moves a couple inches. Xack scrambles to look forPaula under the log. The Koala snickers and shakes his head.

    OUTBACK XACKCrikey Mates! I moved the log butPaula wasnt under there!

    The koala snickers.

    OUTBACK XACKI dont know if well ever findPaula or the boomerang.

    He slumps, then responds to the apparent prodding of theaudience to look up.

    OUTBACK XACKWhats that mates?... Over there?

    Xack points off to the left, and observes the area.

    OUTBACK XACKTheres nothing over there... Didyou mean over there?

    Shading his eyes, he points to the right.

    OUTBACK XACKOh Im sorry, you mean behind me?

    He spins to look behind himself.

    OUTBACK XACKUp? Up?

    Xack looks straight up, avoiding seeing the Koala almostdirectly above him. He rotates and is startled at the sightof the koala, jumping and shrieking in soprano.

    OUTBACK XACK

    Crikey!

    Covering his heart, he breathes heavily, then chuckles.

    OUTBACK XACKHa, ha! Its just my friend Paulathe Koala. Does everyone rememberwhy we are out here?... Thatsright, were looking for the purplepolka dotted boomerang. Wait aminute! Ive got an idea! Lets allask Paula if shes seen theboomerang. On the count of four

    lets all say, have you seen theboomerang? Ready? One. Two. Three.Four. Have you seen the boomerang?

    Paula speaks in a snobbish helium voice.

    PAULA THE KOALAMy name is Paula the Koala and Ionly speak to other koalas! Humph!

    Paula crosses her arms in smug fashion.

    OUTBACK XACKCrikey mates! That wasnt very nicewas it?...It sounds like Paula iscranky. Wait a minute! Who didPaula say shell speak to?...Thatsright! Other koalas! Maybe if wepractice our climbing skills forPaula, shell know we are friendsof the koalas and help us out! Does

    Im sorry! With climbing skillslike that, you clearly are friendsof the koalas! The boomerang flewright through my tree, and towardsthe four humped sand dune, by thesea!

    Paula points to the left.

    OUTBACK XACKYikes! Did you all hear that? Whichway did the boomerang go? Outtowards the, beach. Yikes!

    Xack physically shutters into silence. He looks left thenright nervously.

    OUTBACK XACKBeach. Beaches mean water! Imafraid of water!

    Paula chuckles from above.

    PAULA THE KOALAHe. He. He. An explorer that isafraid of water!

    Xack shutters then shakes it out and stands tall.

    OUTBACK XACKSh! Sh! Sh! I dont like that word.I dont like wat--

    PAULA THE KOALA-Have you ever gone in the water?

    OUTBACK XACKNo, but--

    PAULA THE KOALA-Then how do you know you dontlike it silly? Ha! Ha! I have togo! Nature calls!

    She climbs into a HOLE in the tree.

    OUTBACK XACKWait! Paula!

    He looks for her momentarily, then at the ground.

    OUTBACK XACK

    Shes gone. Well at least theboomerang landed next to the wateron the beach! So if we are righthere by the Eucalyptus tree, and weneed to get over there, how do youthink we are going to get there?

    INSERT MARCHING SONG WITH XACKS ACTIONS

    OUTBACK XACKThats right mates! Marching! Doeseveryone remember how to march ontheir bums?...O.k. great! One! Two!

    EXT. AUSTRALIAN BEACH - DAY

    Xack stops in front of three sand dunes, each with humpsvarying from three to five.

    OUTBACK XACKLets stop here on the beach andhave a look around. Do you rememberwhat we are looking for?...Thatsright a purple polka-dottedboomerang on a four-humped sand

    OUTBACK XACK (contd)dune. Do you see a four-humped sanddune? Lets count the number ofhumps on each dune, to find out.

    Gesturing at the dune farthest to the left, he counts.

    OUTBACK XACKOne. Two. Three. That dune hasthree humps!

    He moves on to the dune on the right.

    OUTBACK XACKOne. Two. Three. Four. Five. Thatdune has five humps!

    OUTBACK XACKOne. Two. Three. Four. That dune

    has four humps! That must be wherethe boomerang is! Lets look on topof that dune.

    ON TOP OF THE FOUR HUMPED SAND DUNE

    OUTBACK XACKLets all look way to the left!

    Xack shields his eyes while looking to the left.

    OUTBACK XACKI dont see anything. Lets all

    look way to the right.

    He looks right.

    OUTBACK XACKDont look at the sun silly! Youlllose your sight! Crikey mates! Idont see anything. Hm. I wonder ifthe boomerang flew out of KangarooLous hand, over the Eucalyptustree that Paula the Koala was in,landed on this dune, and got buriedbeneath the sand. Lets all digdown deep in the sand and see if wecan find Kangaroo Lous boomerang!Im going to dig right here!

    Xack begins digging in the sand.

    OUTBACK XACKCome on sidekicks! Keep on digging!We might even find some treasure!Show me how fast you can dig!

    Biting his tongue, he continues to dig vigorously,

    OUTBACK XACKYikes!

    He leaps back from the hole shrieking in soprano, thenaddress the camera.

    OUTBACK XACK(Whispering)

    Theres something down there mates.

    Xack slowly approaches the hole, then one hand at a timereaches down into the hole and cautiously begins to dig. He

    jumps back, but then re-approaches, and digs in very nervousfashion.

    OUTBACK XACKAh!

    Screaming in soprano, he jumps back, then calms himselfquickly while covering his heart.

    OUTBACK XACK(Whispering)

    Whatever it is, its right near thesurface!

    Gently he dusts away sand in the hole, then slumps indisappointment.

    OUTBACK XACKOh, it was just a pop can. Hm. Idont think well ever find theboomerang. Im sorry I drug you allthe way out here mates. Lets restfor a moment and then head back totell Kangaroo Lou we failed.

    Xack plops down in the sand facing away from the hole hedug. A soda can pops out of the hole, followed by a SEATURTLE who emerges just to the surface. The turtle looksaround slowly.

    OUTBACK XACKShhhh! Does anyone hear that?Whats that mates? It sounds likeone of my animal friends is near

    OUTBACK XACK (contd)by! Does anyone seeanything?...Whats that?... Aturtle?... Behind me?

    He spins around, looking just barely the wrong direction.

    OUTBACK XACKBehind me!

    Xack spins around again, catching the turtle in the cornerof his eye. Startled, he shrieks and leaps.

    OUTBACK XACKCrikey Mates!

    MYRTLE THE SEA TURTLEGuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup!

    Chuckling, he covers his heart and tries to catch hisbreath.

    OUTBACK XACKOh ha, ha! Its just my friendMyrtle the Sea Turtle. Hey, letsask Myrtle if hes seen theboomerang. On the count of threelets say, have you seen theboomerang? O.k. One. Two. Three.Have you seen the boomerang?

    Myrtle throws his head in the air.

    MYRTLE THE SEA TURTLEGuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup!

    Myrtle yanks his head into his shell. Xack looks aroundconfused.

    OUTBACK XACK(Politely)

    Hm. Maybe Myrtle didnt hear us.Lets ask him again, but this timea little louder. One. Two. Three.Have you seen the boomerang?

    Myrtle pokes his head out and throws it up in the air.

    MYRTLE THE SEA TURTLEGuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup!

    Myrtle yanks his head into his shell.

    Xack taps a finger over his lips, pacing back and forth.

    OUTBACK XACKDo turtles move quickly orslowly?...Thats right slowly. Sodo you think they eat ice creamquickly or slowly?... Yeah slowly.I think we need to speak in slooowtuuurtle laaangauge fooor Myyyrtleto understand us. Lets all say,haaave yooou seeen theeebooomerang? On the count of three.One! Two! Three! Haaave yooou seeentheee booomerang?

    MYRTLE THE SEA TURTLEGuuuuup! Thaaaaaat waaaaaaay!Siixth Buuoy! Guuuuup!

    OUTBACK XACKThank-

    Myrtle pulls his head into his shell, then disappears intothe hole. Xack peers into the hole.

    OUTBACK XACK-you. Hes gone, but he told us he

    saw the boomerang! Thats greatnews! We might just find thisboomerang! Which way did he say itwent?...

    Xack looks mortified.

    OUTBACK XACKNo, no, no. Not that way! You meanit really fle- fle- flew outtowards the se- se- s-, gulp! Icant say it! Im scared of the se-se- se- water. AH! I said i--

    Myrtle pops out of the hole.

    MYRTLE THE SEA TURTLE-Booo!

    Myrtle yanks his head into his shell, then disappears downthe hole in the sand.

    He begins blowing the floatie up, it reaches capacity, hekeeps pushing air into the swollen floatie, it POPS in hisface.

    He inflates the first floatie, then the second and rapidlyslaps them over his arms.

    He produces an air tank and places it next to himself.

    He looks left.

    Xack gasps and looks terrified. Then takes a deep breath andpuffs his chest out.

    He suggestively nods yes.

    Xack claps his hands together above his head to get intodiving position.

    The lush Great Barrier Reef extends in front of OutbackXack. A small cave on the reef near Xack achieves visualprominence.
