ANOREXIA
It also means "nervous loss of appetite". Thisdefinition is not particularly good, since it is based onmisunderstandings. The people who suffer fromAnorexia Nervosa do not at all have lack of appetite, they are only scared of putting on weight. Therefore,
the term "selfstarving" would be more suitable, oreven better expressed "weightfobia".
Eating disorders like Anorexia Nervosa have shownto occur more commonly in countries where thesereasons are more apparent in the daily life.

Anorexia Nervosa, the psychologist Hilde BruchHilde Bruch published abook about the disease "The Golden Cage". It was based on clinical research in the 1970s showed that
Anorexia Nervosa is a disease related to the culture we live in.This means that the disease is most common in the Westernworld, and a lot is depending on the different factors which hasbeen described above.

What causes Anorexia?
At this time, no definite cause of anorexia nervosahas been determined. However, research within themedical and psychological fields continues to explorepossible causes.
Some experts feel that demands from society andfamilies could possibly be underlying causes foranorexia. For many individuals with anorexia, thedestructive cycle begins with the pressure to be thinand attractive.
Restrictive dieting may prevent their bodies from
developing in a normal manner, and in their thinking, restricts the maturational process and maintains theparent-child relationship that the family has come torely on.

Theyre the gooddaughters and sons who do what theyre told, excel ineverything they do, and focus on pleasing others, they viewthemselves through a harshly critical lens. If theyre notperfect, theyre a total failure.
Family and social pressures:-In addition to thecultural pressure to be thin, there are other family and social
