In the 10 years that I’ve served as Executive Director, OCM’s Board of Directors has been a consistent presence in casting a vision for what our music school can be. Dear Friend,

Enrollment increases 40% in a single year. Nearly 300 three- and four-year-olds play challenging melodies on tiny violins to a packed house at the Holland Center. Plans are announced for our relocation to a 40,000 square-foot building in the heart of Omaha.

How is this all possible in one year?

The answer: Support for Omaha Conservatory of Music from people who give generously to advance our mission of building musical community through education and performance to enrich lives.

In the 10 years that I’ve served as Executive Director, OCM’s Board of Directors has been a consistent presence in casting a vision for what our music school can be. Under their direction, enrollment has grown from approximately 165 in 2004 to more than 1,200 in 2014. From hosting master classes with internationally renowned guest artists to the launch of ambitious community programs like String Sprouts (formerly Violin Sprouts) that address our region’s most pressing issues through music education, our Board of Directors’ advocacy has been vital in moving OCM forward to bigger and broader circles of influence.

And their generosity and vision keep growing. This year, OCM’s entire Board of Directors has offered to match donations from alumni, parents, and friends at an astonishing rate of 2 to 1, effectively tripling your gift. Your gift of any amount – postmarked or given before December 31, 2014 – will prompt a matching contribution to OCM that is twice the amount of your gift.

The 2014 Musical Bridges Match If OCM’s community can reach our goal of $45,000, our Board will give $90,000 making the total amount $135,000 raised for OCM’s general operations! These gifts help keep tuition affordable, attract and retain the best Artist-Faculty, and support the unique OCM programming not offered anywhere else in the country. Please consider a gift to Omaha Conservatory of Music in support of all the people and programs that are making a difference in our community’s cultural landscape.
