Orange Technical College is Looking for 20 Companies to hire 300 Seniors
When: Tuesday, May 7, 2019 Coaching Session Time: 10:00 a.m.
Job Fair: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Where: Orange Technical College Mid Florida Campus
Hiring managers from: Orange County Public Schools’ departments, Valencia, UCF and a small number of community organizations invited to participate.
No cost to participate and OCPS provides the tables and chairs required by each company in the job fair.

Each year on a single day inNovember, thousands of adults go back into the classrooms to share their knowledge andexperience with students in everygrade. This year, approximately 2,229 volunteers 4,700 presentationwere in 97 schools. Impacted 61, 402 students.

What is Read2Succeed?
Read2Succeed is a literacy program sponsored by the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools. It’s purpose is to enrich students who are developing their reading skills in 1st and 2nd grade.
• First Grade - Vocabulary Program • Second Grade - Fluency Program

Five Critical Areas of Reading
The National Reading Panel Report (National Institute of Child Health and Human Development [NICHD], 2000) summarized several decades of scientific research that clearly shows effective reading instruction.
• Phonemic Awareness • Phonics • Vocabulary • Oral Reading Fluency • Comprhension
Vocabulary Enrichment Program

• 183 volunteer tutors
• Serving over 1,000 first and second grade students at 91 district schools.
• Results consistently show students gain on average a year’s worth of growth.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Teacher Impact Grants
Over $187,000 is awarded annually to teachers for innovative projects, equipment and supplies in key areas such as math, science, energy education, classroom libraries, civics and fine arts. During the 2018-19 school year, 220 teachers received grants that impacted more than 20,000 students in 125 schools.
