On September 6th, we had our second new member orientation with over 40 people present. A fine tour was given by Chuck Hoover, our club historian� We also had John Morey and his mother, Roberta, in attendance as they both are working on the Saginaw Club historical book� It is so exciting to see the new faces and watch our new members get more involved� The pool table has been getting so much use that we purchased new equipment and are getting it re-felted� There’s also been a lot of activity on the patio with cigars, cocktails, and some good storytelling� I’ve also heard from a number of new members that our bartender, Lee, is getting very good at remembering their favorite special beverage� We have a full slate of events planned for the coming months and Kathy and I are looking forward to seeing you all there� Stag nights are scheduled on October 10th, with our own Dr� Samuel Shaheen and on November 14th, with Tom Mudd as the featured speaker� On Thursday, October 18th, the American Regional Dining Series presents a “MICHIGAN HARVEST DINNER”� Thursday night bistro is back and children 12 and under now eat free off the kids’ menu on Thursdays! The Saginaw Bay Symphony Orchestra begins its series on October 20th, so be sure to make dinner reservations as the club will be very busy that day� Finally, our own Young Professional Advisory Committee (YPAC) is sponsoring, together with the YPN of the Saginaw Chamber, a festive Halloween party on October 26th� Costumes are required and this should be a great time! I hope you will continue to keep us in mind for any private parties or company events you have planned this fall into the holiday season� Also, be sure to mark your calendar for the upcoming events� Please call Laureen or Cheryl and we would be happy to reserve a spot for you or make your private event special� After all, this is YOUR club� My best to you all! PRIVATE EVENTSThe club truly appreciates being the venue for all types of group events� Following are some guidelines:• There is never a room rental or opening

fee for food or beverage service during regular club business hours�

• A modest room rental may be levied for room usage with minimal food or beverage service�

• An opening fee may be charged for evenings or days when the club is normally closed� The charge may vary from 0 to $500 depending on the number of guests and type of event� The charge is intended to cover the additional expenses incurred for opening the club and staffing for a single event.

MANAGER’S MESSAGEIt is hard to believe that autumn is already here and the second half of the club fiscal year is well under way� We have a number of events coming up at the club over the next couple of months that you won’t want to miss out on�Our Regional American Dinner Series starts back up on October 18 with a Michigan Harvest Dinner� Michigan fruits and vegetables along with some wild game will be the focus of the menu that evening� Look for more details in the weekly email blast as the date approaches� Next in the series will be a BBQ evening on November 8 as we will celebrate three different types of BBQ: Kansas City, Texas, and Carolina� The club’s Young Professionals Advisory Committee has partnered with the Saginaw Chamber Of Commerce and their Young Professionals Network to host a Halloween Charity Bash on Friday, October 26� Tickets are $25 and the proceeds go to the United Way� Last but not least, Thanksgiving is right around the corner! We will be going back to buffet service this year after serving the traditional feast family style the last few years� We will serve from noon to 4 pm, with take-out available as well� Make your reservations today� See you at your club!

FALL/WINTER OPERATING SCHEDULECLUB BISTROFirst floor informal dining every Thursday and Friday, 5:30 pm– 8:00 pm. Casual attire. Children 12 & under eat free Thursday evenings� Live entertainment on Fridays�

RIVERVIEW DINING Located in the Centennial Room, on the second floor, is by reservation Friday evenings from 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm� The club is pleased to serve dinner with a minimum of one reservation received prior to 2:00 pm that day� The atmosphere is a bit more formal, with white linens and views of the river, featuring the same menu as Club Bistro�

SATURDAY DININGDinner served on the second floor whenever a major event, likely to have significant member attendance, is scheduled at the Temple or the Dow� When there is a question about an event regarding member attendance, a minimum of 25 reservations must be received by the Tuesday preceding the event for the club to open�
