Aurora HousingMove Out Planning – Q&A

Aurora conducts daily newcomer briefs, Monday-Friday at 3pm Service members must be present (or provide POA to a designee) Spouses or dependents are encouraged to attend

Aurora conducts move out briefs Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9am to identify concerns and provide guidance The move out brief is also available at

https://www.auroramilitaryhousing.com/residents/departing/ Housing care and damage information outlined in Aurora

handbook pages 12-17, 33-38 Please help Aurora spread the word, ensuring that every resident is

aware of the expectations and opportunities available when living at JBER

The Pacific’s Keystone Weapon System

Aurora HousingMove Out Planning – Q&A

When service members depart JBER, Aurora conducts final move out inspections. Some residents incur charges for services, including: Flooring Maintenance Cleaning Rent/Utilities

Charges apply since: Aurora does not require deposits (so residents have no

credit when the home has suffered damage during residency)

Aurora receives BAH (rent) after the fact, so all residents will owe for the last month of rent/utilities at the time of move out

Examples of single home damage follows

The Pacific’s Keystone Weapon System

Aurora HousingCarpet – What to Expect

Carpet replacement is the most common charge for departing JBER residentsAt move in, each JBER resident is provided a carpet history, and advised that they are responsible for the carpet’s depreciated value Potential replacement causes:

Excessive stains or spots Including animal or human urine or waste

Holes, claw marks, rips or tears Odor (i.e. cigarette smoke)

Tips & Tricks: Reserve a shampooer and soap for free from the Aurora Self Help

Recommend carpet cleaning no more than 2-3 times per year; overuse can damage carpet and pad

Utilize rugs in high-traffic areas Vacuum often and spot treat stains as soon as they happen

The Pacific’s Keystone Weapon System

Aurora HousingTo qualify, a military member must be deployed for 90 or more days, or be on a one year or more dependent-restricted, unaccompanied tour
