Are you looking for opportunities to show intentional hospitality to others? Then you may want to consider attending our Church Host Training on October 20! This new role will help facilitate some of the many events we host at the church, from birthday parties to conferences. For more information about this opportunity, refer to our updated facility usage forms, which may be found outside the choir room, or contact our office during the week. FALL FEAST

Mark your calendar and join us for the FBC Monticello FALL FEAST, scheduled for Sunday, October 27 in conjunction with our quarterly church conference. Members are encouraged to bring their favorite side dishes and desserts. The church will provide the main dish. This will be a time for us to fellowship together as well as celebrate the things the Lord has been doing through the church. We’ll also preview exciting things to come in 2020.

The financial report from August was reviewed and accepted.

Properties report: roof project is near completion; gutter project will

commence following completion of roof project; lighting will be ordered

soon for the foyer; the leak in the basement will continue to be

monitored.

New sound equipment for the worship center and gym was discussed;

purchases will be made and taken from designated dollars.

Vacancies for the nominating team were discussed. New candidates will

be recommended and voted on in time for 2020 ALT nominations.

FIRST KIDS OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

October 2— November 6 Throughout the month of October, FBC Kids will be taking up donations for Operation Christmas Child. Please see the bulletin board outside of Pastor Kevin’s office for details on the types of items that are needed to fill the boxes. Donations can be brought to the church office, or we will have boxes available if you would prefer to take one home to pack. It costs $9 to ship a box to a child in need. Pray about giving to help ship our boxes as well. We will be packing boxes on a Wednesday night in November, so be on the lookout for additional information! 5TH QUARTER Friday, October 4 / 9:30PM / MBSF Building @ UAM Students will be having a 5th quarter party on October 4 following the DCHS and MHS football games. There will be free food and games, prizes, as well as praise and worship. This is for students in grades 6-12. Doors open at 9:30PM. Contact Pastor Steven for more information.

HIGH SCHOOL SCAVENGER HUNT Saturday, October 12 / 10AM / Fellowship Hall Join the fun! Meet from 10AM-Noon in the Fellowship Hall. Lunch will be provided afterwards. This is for high school students in grades 9-12.

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS HANGOUT Sunday, October 20 / 5-8 PM / Les and Tia Reid’s House Calling all middle school boys in grades 6-8, you are invited to an evening of fun, food, football, fellowship and who knows what else… Parents can drop off and pick up their student at the Reid’s house or transportation will be provided, leaving the church at 4:45 PM.

CHRISTMAS CHOIR

Christmas will be here soon! In fact, stores already have trees and lights in full

display. Come join us and be a part of the music ministry this year for

Christmas. If you are serving in other areas and cannot be there for rehearsal,

that is no problem– Rehearsal tracks are available in the choir room.

VETERAN’S RECEPTION

Although it isn’t in October, we want you to go ahead and save the date for

our special Veteran’s Day reception. FBC invites all veterans and their families

to a BBQ lunch in appreciation of their service to our country. This will be on

Monday, November 11 from 11:30AM-12:30PM in the FBC Gym.
