IworkedwiththeFoodServiceDirectorinButtetoordertheapplesaspartofourFreshFruitandVegetablePrograminwhichthreeschoolsreceiveafruitorvegetablesnacktwiceaweek.
Duringlunchthestudentseachputanappleinaciderpressandseehowciderismade.Allofthestudentslovedit!
IntheafternoonIledfourclassesallaboutapples.Theyoungerstudentsdidtastetestsofdifferentapples.Theolderstudentsdidanappleexperimentwheretheyplacedappleslicesindifferentenvironmentsandmonitoredtheratesatwhichtheyoxidized(turnedbrown).
Theprincipalcounteddowntothecollectivecrunchat2p.m.overtheschoolintercom.ManystudentsclaimedthatthePinkLadyMacintosheswerethebestapplestheyhadeverhad.OurCrunchTime2013wasasuccess!
