It's that me of year again, as we turn Phoenix purple as a show of support for a very serious topic: domesc violence. This is the fiſth year for Paint Phoenix Purple, a public educaon campaign intended to reduce, and eventually eliminate, domesc violence in our community. You are encouraged to wear purple throughout the month of October, especially on Thursday, Oct. 19, which has been designated as the statewide day to raise awareness. On this day, use the hashtag #AZWearPurpleDay on social media. Although employees are encouraged to wear their Paint Phoenix Purple shirts, please make sure your dress is appropriate for the work that you perform. Employees who have an official city uniform should connue to wear their city uniform. Mo Glancy, the Assistant Planning & Development Director, is retiring to pursue his favorite pastime, attending all sorts of ASU games. Mo manages the Development Division, responsible for plan review, permit issuance and inspections of all residential, commercial and associated infrastructure construction in Phoenix.

In his 21 years at the city, he has served in a variety of roles, including structural plans engineer, plan review team leader, engineering supervisor and development center manager. He is a graduate of Arizona State University with a degree in Civil Engineering and is licensed as a civil and structural engineer.

A pep rally to send Mo off to his new collegiate sport watching career will be held Wed. Oct. 11 at Valley Bar, 130 N. Central Ave. from 3 to 6 p.m.
