As a professional involved in the Project Management world, youshould be taking advantage of the current economic circumstancesto position yourself for future opportunities and use innovativeapproaches, guided by a strategic vision, to meet the currentmarket challenges.

such trying circumstances it may not be enough to work hard. It isalso important to think strategically on how to best apply limitedresources to specific goals and deliver on a vision for the future.
Join us on October 6th when the PMI South Florida Chapter will behosting a Day of Excellence to focus on Project Management as aStrategic Competency. Leading this discussion will be Mr. RicardoViana Vargas, PMP, Current PMI Chair, who will be addressingSouth Florida business community and industry leaders at a specialmorning session of the Executive Roundtable through our Center ofExcellence (COE) Program.
In the afternoon, our traditional Job Fair will open new opportunities
for job seekers to interact with hiring and recruiting companiessearching for local talent. Later in the afternoon, we will hold thesecond Career Day of the year, two guest speakers (Mr. Hugo Perezand Mr. Mark Hehl) will discuss how to differentiate oneself as anemployee and as an entrepreneur in todays market. Later thatnight, Mr. Viana will be the Keynote Speaker to address the SouthFlorida PMI chapter at a very special dinner meeting.
You cannot miss the opportunity to network, share your experiencesand sharpen your strategic thinking skills.

Ricardo Vargas has been a memberof PMI since 1997. He is the firstBrazilian member to serve on thePMI Board of Directors. Mr. Vargasreceived the PMI DistinguishedContribution Award and the PMIProduct of the Year Award in 2005 andhas served as chapter president andas component mentor for PMI in LatinAmerica from 2003 through 2006.
Mr. Vargas is chair of Macrosolutions,a consulting company based in Brazilwith operations in US, Africa andEurope. He is the author of nine booksabout project management with morethan 100,000 copies sold. Mr. Vargaswas responsible, over the last 10years, for projects that totaled morethan US $5 billion in various industriessuch as Telecom, informationTechnology, finance, oil, gas andenergy.
