What will manufacturing be like in 2029?

It’s been a tradition since 1989! Since the last show in 2017 we’ve broadened the underlying concept—Advancing Ideas for Future Manufacturing.

This is Wisconsin’s Largest Manufacturing Event and it’s where you will make connections with new technological advancements, potential new employees and new, resourceful suppliers and business partners.

Billed as the “Midwest’s Manufacturing Marketplace”, the 16th biennial WIMTS will feature 225+ Exhibitors and aisles of machines and equipment up and running—with exclusive show prices available.

PLAN NOW TO ATTENDSee the newest cost-saving technologies, advanced manufacturing processes and latest innovations to make your business more efficient, competitive and profitable. Compare hundreds of companies to get yours prepared for the future and onto the fast track to greater success. It’s all here under one roof.

...TO TECHNOLOGY Knowledge is power. Discover con-cepts for future manufacturing and the latest trends in the industry and take application direction back to your shop floor and into the workflow.

...TO TALENT Many of Wisconsin’s highly tal-ented technical students will be competing and/or attending. You’ll have the inside track to meet, and possibly even hire, a very qualified “future workforce”.

...TO RESOURCES Workshops, industry seminars, association events & meetings and keynote addresses will open your eyes and mind to innovative solutions you can adopt or adapt for future success.

Student Day Address - “STEM” Education is Key to New Manufacturing TrendsScience, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM), is not only a prelude to engineering, but also to new trends in manufacturing for the 21st century.

How will our Education system change to convince and educate young people that they are the workforce of the future in manufacturing? How do we introduce them to the new TRENDS IN MANUFACTURING which include Automation with Robotics, Rapid Prototyping with 3D Printing, and Connected Systems with computers for data collection?

This presentation will aim to help the students learn more about these new trends, the changes in technology as it relates to Manufacturing and the variety of Skill Sets that are needed to succeed. Presenter: Dorothy Walker is the daughter of a Tennessee sharecropper and rose from being a Milwaukee Area Technical College welding student to the college’s first female welding instructor and ultimately a dean. Throughout her career, she worked to connect young women to career opportunities, including placing her welding students and partnering with the Girl Scouts and local school districts. Before retiring as dean of the School of Technology and Applied Sciences in July 2019, Walker also partnered with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and Milwaukee County to help individuals re-entering the community learn much-needed skills.

All students welcome but must call ahead to reserve seating - Call Jill Smart @ 262-370-2073.

NEED SKILLED LABOR? Head for the Resume Rendezvous. You can check out resumes of the competitors for the welding and robotics competition plus others that were dropped off during the show. This will present an excellent opportunity to hire quality skilled labor – maybe even one of the winners of the student competitions!

NEED HELP PUTTING TOGETHER A RESUME? Stop in. Nissen Staffing Continuum will help you create a resume and then print so you can have your own rendezvous too at the Connection Reception with potential employers.

Be sure to ask Nissen Staffing Continuum about their new training facility in Menomonee Falls which teaches welding, fork lift driving and other in-demand manufacturing industry skills.
