CLIENTS  VIEWSNERJA, SPAIN - - - The Parador de Nerja hugs the top of the cliff above the Playa de Burriana, unostentatious and with manicured green lawns laid out around the outdoor pool. From the moment you enter the cool foyer with the view of the blue tile-backed fountain in the courtyard you will be wrapped in an embrace of comfort and efficient service. The rooms are spacious, understated, and with every convenience. Ours had a balcony overlooking the splashing fountain below, a large en-suite bathroom, and plenty of wardrobe space for hanging those precious clothes! With 96 rooms arranged over 3 floors, the hotel is an L-shape with the restaurant, bar and terrace at the southern end, overlooking the bay. How lovely it is to enjoy the 5-star breakfast – ranging from fruit and yoghurt to a full Spanish cooked breakfast – sitting on the terrace in the morning sunlight, watching the bay come to life below. The attraction of retiring to one of the many sun-loungers scattered around the lawns for the rest of the day is very strong. However, when you feel like a swim in the sea you can let the glass-walled lift at the far end of the lawns whisk you down to the beach below and be in the water within two minutes. Or you may want to stroll along the promenade and buy a souvenir or indulge in a paella in one of the many shops and restaurants lining the bay. Instead of the lift you can take the zig-zag path back up to the front of the hotel, taking in the majestic view of the jagged Sierra Almijara mountains beyond the white-walled buildings of Nerja. If you want to explore the town you just turn left out of the front of the hotel and keep walking for about 8 minutes until you reach the heart of Nerja itself, the Balcon de Europa, a natural promontory jutting out into the sea. Here you can stroll around, enjoy an ice-cream, sit outside a café or just enjoy the panoramic view. Afterwards you can browse in one of the many shops selling clothes and hand-made goods – or sample one of the many restaurants. If you fancy a longer excursion the ‘Cuevas de Nerja’, spectacular caves, are just a short journey away. All too soon, however, the peace and tranquillity of the Parador will lure you back. An afternoon swim in the pool beckons. What a view as you swim! – the mountains as a backdrop, the wide, blue Mediterranean below. Refreshments can follow - nothing is too much trouble for the waiters. A pot of tea for two, Senora? Certainly. Within three minutes it’s brought out to the lawn – always accompanied by two tempting dark chocolates. A range of dishes is on offer for lunch and dinner. We often ordered a snack lunch on the terrace – an omelette-filled baguette, or a salmon and egg sandwich. Dinner is more extravagant, offering fresh, local ingredients, with many varieties of fish. As the days passed effortlessly by it became easier and easier just to never get off that sun-lounger. Once at the Parador you’ll never want to leave! - MRS. F. HENLEY-ON-THAMES

MYKONOS Stayed at Mykonian K Hotel, Mykonos Town, Mykonos - Greece

We  had  a  lovely  holiday  ,  can  thoroughly  recommend  the  hotel.    It  was  close  enough  to  town  to  walk  down  in  the  evenings  but  far  enough  away  to  be  nice  and  quiet  and  buses  to  all  the  beaches  from  the  end  of  the  road.  Staff  were  really  helpful  and  rooms  clean  and  comfortable,  our  room  even  looked  over  the  sea  and  the  fantas?c  sunsets  –  fab!    The  only  downside  was  the  exchange  rate  and  how  expensive  Greece  has  become.    Last  ?me  I  went  there  everything  was  very  reasonable  so  either  Mykonos  is  very  expensive  or  everything  has  gone  up  by  a  huge  amount  -‐  I’m  not  used  to  paying  4  euro's  for  a  soK  drink.

Anyway  we  have  a  great  ?me  and  will  be  in  touch  for  our  next  trip  in  due  course.  Mr  &  Mrs  J  -‐  Henley  on  Thames
