"From ages 12 to 16 I started smoking weed and drinking, I dropped out of school in 7th grade... I got into a ton of different drugs and even lived under an overpass for a while."

At 16, locked up in Juvenile Detention - that’s where we met Shelby… “they came in and Victoria and I connected and she's been in my life ever since.”

Thanks to ministry partners like you, we were there to meet Shelby with the love of Jesus!

Shelby got connected with a local church partner and accepted Jesus at their summer camp last summer - and she hasn’t looked back! She’s been on three mission trips and was a cabin leader at Youth for Christ camp this summer.

God has saved Shelby and is now using her to reach others. Shelby enjoys giving back and is volunteering in City Life - ministering to young girls in the low income community of Nollwood.

"I know that in Nollwood there aren't a lot of dads - I want to be able to be there for people, love people, show them how much Jesus loves them and how important they are to him."

Shelby says that right now she feels called to finish school and then long term, to invest in her local community as a missionary. What an inspiring example of God’s love for people!

SHELBY’S STORY

FROM THE DESK OF JOSH HINMAN:

Shelby’s story is one example of many: more than 600 kids are in a Christ-Sharing relationship with an adult through West Sound Youth for Christ. That’s 600 kids talking about Jesus with a caring adult mentor...

Your financial partnership is making this possible!

Through your partnership, you are part of a movement of people on a mission: to bring the good news of Jesus to every overlooked and hurting kid and family in our community.

And we’re compelled by the love of Jesus to not stop with 600. There are more kids in our local schools, more families in the foster care system, more kids dropping out of school, committing crimes, and becoming pregnant.

Let’s reach more kids and families together!

Please join us to pray for those in our community, and as you do, would you prayerfully consider continuing your financial partnership with a single gift? You can use the enclosed envelope to make a gift, or visit our website, westsoundyfc.org/donate.

Thanks for your prayers and your partnership with us.

Until all have heard,

Josh Hinman Executive Director West Sound YFC

P.S. I’ll be sending you two more opportunities to include West Sound YFC in your holiday giving - be on the lookout for these in the

coming weeks!

Please prayerfully consider including

YFC in your holiday giving!
