Ode to lifestyle in clinical lipidology I have been a practicing Internist in Milwaukee for 40 years and a clinical lipidologist for 5 years. I am passionate about teaching my patients and peers about lifestyle modifications. I follow the advances and current research closely. The Journal of Clinical Lipidology is my reference journal. Years of experience as an internist/clinical lipidologist and learning about lipids and lifestyle is condensed in this poem. The message is simple and attempts to convey easily the concepts of lifestyle modifications. Ode to Lifestyle in Clinical Lipidology A person can flourish for many a yearwith a healthy diet and a body in gear. Enroll in a gym, or take rides on a bike, Go jog with a dog, or just take a long hike. Make sure to eat foods nourishing to you that provide fuel for all the exercise you do. Fresh veggies and fruits, whole grains, yes, brown rice, lean protein and fish are well worth the price. Just remember to eat appropriate portions so your body will be nicely proportioned. Occasionally weary, your will all depleted? You must just carry on, do not feel defeated. To live to one hundred is not that far-fetched – Just watch what you eat and keep muscles well stretched. Some dreaded diseases are oft kept at bay By those who try fasting each week for a day. In order to look and to feel at your best Be sure to allow ample time for your rest.
