Ode to lifestyle in clinical lipidology
I have been a practicing Internist in Milwaukee for 40years and a clinical lipidologist for 5 years. I am passionateabout teaching my patients and peers about lifestylemodifications. I follow the advances and current researchclosely. The Journal of Clinical Lipidology is my referencejournal.
Years of experience as an internist/clinical lipidologistand learning about lipids and lifestyle is condensed in thispoem. The message is simple and attempts to convey easilythe concepts of lifestyle modifications.
Ode to Lifestyle in Clinical Lipidology
A person can flourish for many a yearwith a healthy dietand a body in gear.
Enroll in a gym, or take rides on a bike,Go jog with a dog, or just take a long hike.
Make sure to eat foods nourishing to youthat provide fuel for all the exercise you do.Fresh veggies and fruits, whole grains, yes, brown rice,
lean protein and fish are well worth the price.Just remember to eat appropriate portionsso your body will be nicely proportioned.
Occasionally weary, your will all depleted?
You must just carry on, do not feel defeated. To live to one hundred is not that far-fetched –Just watch what you eat and keep muscles well stretched.
Some dreaded diseases are oft kept at bay
By those who try fasting each week for a day.
In order to look and to feel at your best
Be sure to allow ample time for your rest.Eight hours of sleep every night is a goalTo maintain your mind, your body, and soul.
