October 3 - 17th Annual Elk Fest in Estes Park The festival features bugling contests, a Cabela’s Archery Range & Elk Camp, exhibits, the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program, elk seminars, a Mountain Man Rendezvous, elk-inspired arts and crafts, Native American music, dancing and storytelling, elk-education bus tours, a children’s’ area with elk-themed activities, and a craft beer garden. Live country, rock and bluegrass music will light up the park Saturday with the Matt Skinner Band from 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Trip is $15 per person. Bring spending money.

October 10 Archery 3D Target Shoot Stop by the archery range from noon - 4 p.m. and take a shot at our new 3D targets. FREE!

October 15 - Rock Wall Come out from 4 - 7 p.m. at Fall Hall. Interested in climbing on the only rock wall in Cheyenne, Wyoming? Check out our new routes, learn how to belay and gain your certification to climb on the wall.

Cost is $20 for adults/$15 for Children under 12 years old, 2 and under join the trip for free. Trip departs from Outdoor Recreation at 9 a.m. - bring money for food or stuff your backpack for lunch.

Friday October 30 - The Zombie Run The Zombie apocalypse is upon us…prepare yourself to get ‘bloody’, and to get scared out of your mind, because this adventure takes place AT NIGHT! If you are one of the lucky ones to make it to the alleged safe zone, you will be identified as a “FINISHER” via your huge medallion. If your idea of an awesome Friday night is chasing or being chased by hundreds of zombies through an apocalyptic wasteland littered with fire, mazes, hurdles, haunted zones and more…then what are you waiting for?? Participate as a Human $50 or a Zombie $40. Scheduled departure is 4 p.m., subject to change.

Friday October 30 - Veggie Tales Join Bob and Larry and their veggie friends in a live performance that teaches that even with a little bit of faith, little kids do big things. Tickets and transportation are $35 per person.

October 10 - Bench Press Com-petition, 5 p.m. Calling all body-builders, male and female! We want to put your strength to the test. This competition will test your strength on bench press only. To put everyone on an even platform, scores are calcu-lated using the Schwartz/Malone cal-culation. Sign-ups will be taken until 5 p.m. the day of event. Participants must be 16 and older and may be de-pendents, active duty, reserve, guard or civil servants. 1st place male and female will receive prizes.

October 29 - Halloween Team Torture, 4 p.m. Round up your closest friends in this ultimate group obstacle course. Must be a team of four containing at least one female. There will be four courses, which will be the Agility Ladder, Pull Ups, Body Drag, Sprints and anything else the spirits might cook up! The team to finish with the fastest time wins. The 3 fastest teams will receive a prize. We will also have a costume contest, so please dress up as your favorite super hero, cartoon character, ect. Participants must be 16 and older, and may be dependents, active duty, reserve, guard or civil servants.

NEW to Freedom Hall Fitness Center - Parent/Youth Area! This area is designed for kids ages 6-12 and their parents to work out to-gether! In this area we have youth and adult size cardio equipment and weight equipment. Your child MUST be 6-12 years old to use the area, and both the parent and youth will need to attend training before using the space. If you are interested or have questions, please contact the front desk at 773-6075. Please note that due to the nature and amount of equipment and AFI restrictions, no children under the age of 6 are al-lowed in the area.

BGCA SMART Passport to Manhood Lock-in Calling all boys! Why stay home when you can come and join the BGCA Passport to Manhood Lock-in event on Oct 23 - 24, 6 p.m. - 6 a.m.? This Lock-in is for boys only, ages 9-18. Cost is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. Enjoy the evening at Fall Hall with laser tag, batting cage and much more.

School Age Program The School Age Program provides a safe, supervised, and age appropriate environment for children ages 5-12. Our programming provides activities that complement the school day. Schools that bus to the Youth Center include Freedom, Deming/Miller, and Pioneer Park. Fees for the program are based on total family income.

Open Recreation Have you given thought to your child going to college? The Open Recreation Program can assist your child in finding their path to the future. The Open Recreation Program provides a safe, secure, fun environment after school and during special events. As an affiliate of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and through their core curriculum, we provide activities to help youth develop a sense of belonging, competence, and influence. This facility is for youth ages 9-18.

kids ages 5 - 14 is Oct. 1 - 30. The cost is $55 (sign up by Oct. 9 and save $5) and includes all practices and games, team uniform, t-shirt, NYSCA certified coaches, awards, equipment, banquet and family field trips. Participants must pay for tickets to attend field trips. Team NBA replica uniforms are to be signed out and turned in at the end of the season. All participants are required to sub-mit paperwork to show they have had a physical within the past year. A coaches training meeting is Nov. 17, 6 p.m. A mandatory parent’s meeting is Nov. 18, 6 p.m. at the Youth Center. Practices are held in the Youth Center beginning the first week in December. Season begins the third week of Jan.
