Memorial Day

Since the outbreak of the Covid 19 virus that has affected everyone and every place across the nation, several events have had to be cancelled. Fortunately, some phases have been opened to allow certain things to open back up. We finally got the pool open with limited

hours and continue with the Social Distancing – that’s good news!This Memorial Day the normal party was cancelled but we decided on trying out a small

gathering that was opened up to anyone who wanted to come – call it a “Block Party” and with the help from Mary and Tom from Lot 53 we were able to plan and continue with the social distancing. There were some neighbors that we really didn’t know, and it was great getting together and just talk, eat, drink, and enjoy the afternoon. Everyone brought a dish or two to pass. There was potato salad, macaroni & cheese, shrimp cocktail, deviled eggs, baked beans, a deep fried deviled egg (that was different), Cole slaw, a rice dish, hamburgers and hot dogs, German potato salad, a tuna macaroni salad that was probably the Best I’ve had in a long time (if you were or are from Central New York it tasted just like the salad from Heide’s Hot Dog stand that is a pretty popular place). We would like to thank Diane Desrochers, Polly, Sylvia, Wendy, Steve, Hank and Phyllis, and Serena, for all your help in preparation and contributions. Also, a special thank you to Mary and Tom for your participation and contributions to make it a successful party. All in all, I think everyone seemed to have a good time and we should try to do some more of these type of events – Get to Know Your Neighbor!

We will be planning something for the 4th of July and will send out some type of notice as to where and when, so be on the lookout for that information.

Here is how it works, if you see something not right a crime happening, some one you don't know, a car driving around that looks lost (get the plate #) Call the police 911, after they come and take action either remove arrest or just talk to you, Call your street captain give them the information time and date called reason why, result what the police told you or did, Then your street captain will contact me and relay that information. Monthly I will send all events to my police contact, he will use this information to increase or decrease a police presence in the park, For emails I need your full name street you live on lot number contact information phone number so when you call i will answer I let calls i don't know got to voice mail. More to follow as this virus winds down, and we get back to normal

Memorial Day

T hese pictures are from Memorial Day. It may not look it but everyone practiced social distancing. To make things a little safer we had individual packets of ketchup, mustard, relish, mayo, potato chips and silverware. We used tables ( round and long) from the

clubhouse. So it was easy to space out. Hope more people will attend the 4th of July party.

A Rabbi Confession

A priest was called away for an emergency. Not wanting to leave the confessional unmanned, he called a rabbi friend up and asked him to cover for him. The rabbi

told him he wouldn’t know what to say, but the priest told him to come on over and he’d stay with him and show him what to do. The rabbi comes and he and the priest are in the confessional.

In a few minutes a woman comes in and says “Father forgive me for I have sinned.” The priest asks “What did you do?”. The woman says “I Committed adultery.” Priest: “How many times?” Woman: “Three times.”

Recipe

Chocolate Kahlua Cake

1 package yellow cake mix1 regular size package of dry instant chocolate pudding1 cup of oil½ cup sugar4 eggs¼ cup vodka¼ cup Kahlua¾ cup water

Glaze½ cup powdered sugar¼ cup Kahlua

Mix above ingredients at medium speed for 2 minutes. Bake in a prepared bundt cake or tube cake pan. (Greased and floured.)

Bake 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes. Before cake is cooled, remove from pan and put on cake plate.

When cake is cooled, punch holes in top of cake with toothpick. Dribble with glaze. Serve with cool whip or ice cream. Cake will be more flavorful if served the next day.


Joke

A n Irish priest was transferred to Texas.

Father O’Malley rose from his bed one morning.

It was a fine spring day in his new west Texas mission parish.

He walked to the window of his bedroom to get a deep breath of the beautiful day outside.

He then noticed there was a jackass lying dead in the middle of his front lawn.

There was dead silence on the line for a long moment…….

“Aye, ’tis certainly true; but we are also obliged to notify the next of kin first, which is the reason for me call.”
