COURSE.DESCRIPTION This qualification reflects the roles of individuals delivering training and assessment services in the vocational education and training (VET) sector. This qualification (or the skill sets derived from units of competency within it) is also suitable preparation for those engaged in the delivery of training and assessment of competence in a workplace context, as a component of a structured VET program.

The volume of learning of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is typically six months to two years.

Licensing/Regulatory Information

Achievement of this qualification by trainers is a requirement of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015

ENTRY REQUIREMENT Those entering this program must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.

A Pre-Training Review is completed by Students during the application process. On completion of the Pre-Training Review IVET determines if the course is suitable for the student and whether it addresses their learning needs and current skill set levels.

ASSESSMENTS All vocational courses are assessed through a combination of assessment types that may include:

There are a number of approaches taken towards the assessment tasks. Majority of the assessment tasks will be done in your allocated self-paced study time. It is a requirement of this course to have access to real life learners in a classroom setting as well as full classroom facilities to be able to undertake some of the key areas of this training and assessment course. Students will be assessed against the unit of competency criteria and assessors will provide copies of the assessment tasks in accordance with the assessment schedule and discuss the assessment requirements with each student prior to them attempting each task.

SUPPORT Students will be supported through a wide range of methods. This will include but not limited to:

MATERIALS Course workbooks will be provided to all students. Students will read relevant sections of the workbooks in preparation for the workshops. Students will attend face-to-face lessons for each unit at agreed stages throughout the course.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT) All Students are provided with the opportunity to have their prior learning and experience assessed and gain recognition for this. Students who have successfully completed whole units of competency with an Australian Registered Training Organisation that are identical to any of those contained within this course can apply for Credit Transfer.

Qualification On successful completion of this course, students will receive a TAE40116 - Certificate IV Training and Assessment and a Record of results indicating the course units successfully completed. When a student successfully completes some but not all of the units of competency in the course they will be issued a Statement of Attainment indicating the units they have successfully completed.
