This is from the book The Twelve Days of Christmas by Elsa Chaney. The feast of manifestation, or Epiphany, is traditionally celebrated the 12th day after Christmas, January 6th. In the dioceses of the United States this feast has been moved to the Sunday between January 2 and January 8. Prayer: On entering the home,

O God, who by the guidance of a star didst on this day manifest Thine only-begotten Son to the Gentiles, mercifully grant that we who know Thee by faith may also attain the vision of Thy glorious majesty. Through Christ our Lord. All: Amen. Leader: Be enlightened, be enlightened, O Jerusalem, for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee—Jesus Christ born of the Virgin Mary. All: And the Gentiles shall walk in thy light and kings in the splendor of thy rising, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon thee.

After the prayers of the blessing are recited, each room of the home is sprinkled with holy water. The initials of the Magi are inscribed above the front door with the blessed chalk. (The initials of the Magi [ Balthazar, Gaspar, and Melchior], C, M, B, can also be interpreted as the Latin phrase "Christus mansionem benedicat" which means "Christ bless this house".)

2020 Black and Indian Collection
Ever since the first Collection in 1884, the Commission has administered the yearly, national Black and Indian Mission Collection. The generosity of the good People of God allows the Commission to give helpful grants to dioceses across the country to operate schools, parishes, and other missionary services that build the Body of Christ in Native American, Alaska Native, and Black Catholic communities.

MASS & EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION FOR LIFE: On Sunday January 19, 2020 Fr. John Connell will preside at our annual diocesan Mass for Life. The Mass will be celebrated in the Wally Allen Ballroom of the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock at noon. Before the Mass, Fr. Connell will lead a Eucharistic Procession for Life through the Riverfront Park in downtown Little Rock. Join hundreds of Catholics at this event as we give public witness to our faith and hope in Jesus Christ! The Procession begins at 10:00 a.m. and the route is approximately one mile long; however, there are multiple entry points for those with limited mobility. Please contact the Respect Life Office 501-664-0340 ext. 326 or email [email protected] for more information. HEARTS FOR LIFE… There will be a Hearts for Life Conference on Saturday January 18 beginning at 1:00 p.m. through Sunday January 19, 9:00 a.m. at St. John Center, 2500 N. Tyler, Little Rock. This conference will explore pro-life issues and will include Adoration, plus dinner, breakfast, and overnight accommodations. Speakers will focus on living courageously pro-life while surrounded by a culture of death. There will also be activities for children who accompany their parents. Cost is $40 per person or $20 without an overnight room. There is a discount for families sharing a room. Registration deadline is January 10, 2020 but space is limited. To register, please email the Respect Life Office [email protected].
