Four things are esaential in ancuring a pen* •m: 1.—Tbe soldier must hare serve 1 at least ninety day* in tbe War of the Rebellion and baft been honor-ably discbaiged. 2.—There must be di-rect proof of tbe aoldiur's doolb. in case tbe application u by a widow and or-phan. Tbe cause of death need not have been due lo any service, a.—A widow
must show Uiut kbe is without means of support other than her daily Ulior. 4 — The widow must have been married tu Uie eoldier prior to Jane 27, IWKl.
