06. Approval to modify orant awards for FY14 and FY15 in support of local improvement efforts in current Cohort 2 School Improvement Grant (SIG) schools as authorized under Section 1003(g) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965

Purpose: The grant is being modified to allocate a portion of the year three funds previously awarded for FY14 to FY15 as authorized under Section 1003(g) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965. Modification will allow districts and schools to implement their school improvement plan for a fourth year. All seven current SIG schools were eligible to apply for a tydings waiver; however, only six of those did so.

Scope of Grant:

• Current Grant Period : July 1, 2011 - September 30, 2014

• Modified Grant Period July 1, 2011 - September 30, 2015

• Current Award Amount: $ 21,278,736.31

• Method of Award Waiver Approval

Funding Source: School Improvement Grants, Recovery Act and School Improvement Grants
