APPROVE HEAD START BUDGET MODIFICATION REQUEST AND HEAD START

AND EARLY HEAD START REQUEST TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT Approve a budget modification request for the Head Start Base budget to move $1,365,520 in Salary and Fringe Benefit savings to the Equipment and ‘Other’ line items. This proposal includes a request to purchase equipment over $5,000. With the transfer, Head Start can purchase and install play equipment, soft play spaces and shade structures, as well as other costs associated with these items. These site improvements will ensure that Head Start children have access to engaging, safe and developmentally appropriate outdoor spaces that provide adequate protection from excessive sun exposure and can be used as outdoor classrooms as we continue to make changes to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. 2. APPROVE APPLICATION FOR DASS ELIGIBILITY FOR BEACH Approve the LBUSD application for Dashboard Alternative School Status (DASS) program eligibility for Beach Intensive Learning High School. The school meets the criteria for eligibility for DASS by reporting that over 95% of the students enrolled are high-risk. 3. APPROVE THE 2020-21 SPECIAL EDUCATION ANNUAL BUDGET AND SERVICE
