1st Team
Today we welcome Balcatta to Inglewood.
The last 2 rounds have been somewhat pleasing with regards to the way the boys have responded to our opening round defeat.
Two draws against quality opposition firstly with Perth, then backed up to dominate Bayswater without taking the points.
The players have been outstanding in their approach and their performances have reflected this. We need to now turn these performances into results.
Last week against Bayswater, once we got over our own goal, we dominated the match with good possession and created numerous chances on goal which unfortunately we were unable to capitalise on.
It was pleasing to see every player do their part, follow team instructions, and show good character to deny Bayswater any flow to their game.
It was another improvement on the previous game against Perth, and gives us an insight of where we are and where we aim to get to.
Today promises to be no different.
Balcatta are a quality side with some excellent players in their squad. They are well coached by Ramon and will be another huge test for us.
We have to maintain our level and strive to be consistent in our approach and performances to be able to continue playing as we have.
Best Wishes to all teams today.
Thank You,
Michael GarciaHead Coach

I would like to welcome the Members, Sponsors, Players, Coach’s & Supporters from Inglewood United and Balcatta Football Club to Inglewood Stadium for the second round of the 2015 WA NPL season.
The last few weeks have been a packed schedule. We’ve played 2 league games & had a Cup round over the Easter weekend.
We had Perth Soccer Club in round 2 of the league. The final result of 1-1 was a fair indicator of the game as both teams wrestled for control and both having opportunities to take all three points. Scoring started early with former Inglewood player Dino Topcagic scoring for Perth. Inglewood came back into the game with a goal from Ray Adolphus. We finished the final 35 minutes with 10 men with Jordan D’Souza seeing straight red.
We then welcomed UWA-Nedlands to Inglewood Stadium on Easter Monday for Round 1 of the Cup. A game that should have been won by Inglewood in the first 10 minutes, but by the end of regular time it was 1:1 and we went to penalties and in the end won by UWA-Nedlands 3-5.After 26 shots on goal to Inglewood compared to 3 for UWA-Nedlands in regular time, it was just one of those days. Credit to the very young UWA-Nedlands keeper who was stopping almost everything hit at him even with 4 shots one after another in quick concession and 3 penalties.
The 3rd round was our first away game for 2015 and we didn’t have to travel far, just over the railway line to Frank Drago reserve to play Bayswater City.
The final score was 3:5 to Inglewood with goals from Panaia (great free kick), McClymans, Atkins, Dodgson & Dias.
There is still plenty of work to be done with the 20’s squad, but with the commitment, work rate and belief in the 20’s squad, I believe and look forward to seeing the team and the individuals within the team grow and strive to fulfill the goals we have set.
All the best to both teams for the game & for the 2015 season.

Spain TourAn impressive 16 players and 3 Staff comprised the Real Valladolid
Football Tour to Spain 2015. After last year’s successful tour, 16 players
were selected with only Paul Zimarino (Captain) making a return visit,
whereas 15 players and club president Luke Martin were joining the
Tour for the very first time.
Day 1 : Arrived in Madrid, Spain after 18hrs flying time, the group were
collected by Real Valladolid coaching staff and team bus. Vallodolid is
approximately 2 hours from the capital and on arrival we checked in the
hotel where each individual was allocated a room. The group then moved
onto the Real Vallodolid residency for dinner, a quite extraordinary
experience for the players after being shown the outstanding facilities
for the young professional players, some of the group participated in a
quick game of table tennis before heading back to the hotel and bed.
Day 2 : The group were collected at 10am for their first Spanish
training session but before that the players experienced more fine
Spanish hospitality, with what can only be explained as a high protein
and carbohydrate breakfast. This breakfast gave me the indication that
the session was going to be of high intensity, which it was. On arrival
at the Annexos, Andres the RV coach greeted the players and held a
team meeting explaining the 10 days ahead and what to expect from
this session. The boys were remarkably responsive after all that flying
and lack of sleep and the attention to detail presented by Andres was
sublime. The most satisfying part of the first session was the quality
football displayed by the boys and the professional delivery by the
Spanish coaches. After the session the players spent a more relaxing
evening at the residency and caught up on some lost sleep.

Day 3 : Once again the players were asked to rise up and report for
breakfast at 0830hrs so they could be collected by team bus at 10am.
Looking over the dining room I noticed less food on the plates and more
fluids as I believe the players realised what to expect at training. The
focus on this particular session was 1v1 or 3v2 (Overload) along with
finishing (Shooting practice). The players again displayed their ability
whilst also absorbing of what the Spanish methodology was about.
After the session the boys started to gel amongst each other, realising
that they were a team and that they had their first match later on in
the evening.
In the evening the touring Inglewood United SC played their first
game against U18s Real Valladollid International team. Our average
age was 16 were as the opposition was 17/18, despite that difference
our boys displayed the type of football that expected from Australians
(Never Say Die). As coach of the squad and from previous international
experience we adopted a 1-3-4-3 formation which ensured we had 7
players pressing high. The only disadvantage was that we were man
on man at the back however young Christian Miraudo (15) along with
Lachlan Ryan and BJ Grant played the roles impeccably well. 1 goal
each from Aaron Simpson and Riaz Kelly ensured we drew the game
2-2, a long range effort from captain Paul Zimarino at the end may have
ensured the win however all in all the players performed extremely well
and dedicated their game to all the folk back home.
Day 4 : The group visited the Estadio Joze Zorrila to watch the Real
Vallodolid senior team. The match day experience was amazing with
the away fans cordoned off in a section by the police. The game itself
had high quality finishing along with fast and positive ball movement,
however the best part was the vocal home and away supporters which
gave the type of atmosphere you would expect in Europe. away our
team bus and taken into the city where we were able to celebrate the

2-1 victory with the locals, tasting tapas and observing the
family traditions. The club also decided to check us into a city hotel for
the night enabling the players to experience the Valladolid nightlife,
however I feel the bonus for our boys was that we were checked in
the same hotel as the U16s & U18s Spanish Volleyball Girls team who
happened to be competing in a tournament. As an observer, it was
pleasing to see the girls try and engage with the boys even though
communication was a problem, whilst our boys displaying their
appreciation of their culture and having loads of photos and football
chant sing along. As the evening came to an end, its fair to say that the
city of Valladolid new that Inglewood United SC was here.
Day 5 : Waking up on Sunday morning at the city hotel to what can only
be described as a scrumptious breakfast showed everyone on tour that
Spanish hospitality was top notch. On check out we were collected once
again by the team bus and driven back out to the stadium to watch the
Reserve Team. The game was attended by about 1500 people and the
game, well let’s just say that in my opinion I believe the coaches and
captains shook before the match and agreed on the result. The lack
lustre 0-0 draw was exactly that, the only chances coming from either
a set piece or an odd counter attack. In saying that the entire weekend
was an amazing experience for the group, the two days off from training
and playing enabled the boys to recover and taste the Spanish culture
without the stress and expectations of a pro footballer.
Day 6 : The second football match is scheduled against Club Deportivo
Palencia but before then the boys are about to embark on yet another
training session in preparation for that match tomorrow. Palencia is
approximately 1hr away and am expecting them to be a level above our
last opponents.
Good luck to all our teams playing against the Balcatta SC!!!
From all of us here in Spain…VAMOS!!

Supporters opinionJust a Thought.......
I have watched nearly all games by all teams and must say that the signs
for the season ahead are positive.
I know it’s only early days but the application by the coaches, players
and support staff has been a revealation.
In life, talent alone does not guarantee results .But combine it with
commitment, discipline and wholehearted effort and success will follow.
Maybe not immediately but with patience it will arrive.
And the life lessons learnt through this team environment are simply
immeasurable and irreplaceable.
There is on old saying(most of them are!) which states:
“No Man is an island”.
This is true of life itself and easily applied to a Club such as ours.
So if you are not already with us and would like to be just take those
first few steps and offer whatever you can.
We need you and maybe, just maybe, you need to be part of us!
