Some Basics to Remember:

• 5-7 bullets per slide

• 7-10 words per bullet

• Never smaller than size 24 font

• Don’t read the slide!!

• Too much animation is annoying.

• Watch your colors.

• Well placed animation is memorable.

This will change your cursor to a + symbol –Giving you the ability to draw a box

• Create the slide you want to link to first!

• 2007- Click on ‘Insert’ and then ‘Shapes’

• At the very bottom of the drop-down menu, you will see the action buttons.

• Choose one, then draw it where you want it to appear on the slide.

Inserting a Sound!

• Download or record the sound you want to use.

• 2007- Click on ‘Insert’ then ‘Sound’• Find the sound you downloaded and click on it.

• Choose whether or not you want it to play automatically or not.

Inserting a Movie!

• Download the video you want to use or

• 2007- Click on ‘Insert’ then ‘Movie’• Find the movie you downloaded and click on it.

• Choose whether or not you want it to play automatically or not.

• Or you can embed a video from YouTube right in your slide

Downloading a Video from YouTube

• Find the video you want to download.

• In the address bar, replace the words, “youtube” with the word “voobys.”

• This will take you to the voobys website.

• Click the Download button or choose the version you want to download and when the pop-up box appears, choose ‘save’.

Converting Your YouTube Video File

• www.zamzar.com will convert your video file of up to 100 mb for free and email you the finished version.

Inserting an Action Graphic/Moving Path

• Click on ‘Insert’ then ‘Clip Art’ • Type in what you are looking for and choose ‘all

media file types’• Click ‘Go’ any picture with a star in the corner is

animated.• Or. . . Go to

• To draw a motion path, start with the picture you want to move in the starting position.

• Click on ‘Animations’ and then ‘Custom Animation’

• In the box that appears on the right, click on ‘Add Effect’ and then ‘Motion Paths’

• Now choose the path you want, I used ‘custom path’ and draw it where you want it.

Inserting WordArt, Picture from File, Diagram, Chart, Object

• Go to ‘Insert’ choose either Picture, Smart Art, Chart or WordArt.

• Follow the prompts given.

• To insert a Link – within the slideshow – click ‘Insert’ and then ‘Hyperlink’

• Type in the display text and choose the slide you want to link to.
