Ohio State NWTF Wild Turkey Super Fund Projects Since 1985 more than $4,214,637 has been raised and spent by Ohio chapters on projects within the state. A sampling of these projects follows: $2,475,491 for Public Land Purchases Accounting for Over 75,763 Acres 30,519 acres Woodbury WMA in Coshocton County 16,200 acres in Tri-Valley WMA in Muskingum 14,410 Egypt Valley WMA in Belmont County 11,200 acres in Lawrence Co, Crown City WMA 5,024 acres Killdeer, Tiffin, Jockey Hollow, Waterloo Wyandot, Fulton, Belmont, Harrison, & Athens Co’s 4,922 acres Vinton, Jackson, & Ross Counties Superior, Zaleski, Broken ARO, Coalton, & Kinnikinnick WMAs 2,900 B&N Coal Co land in Ales Run WMA, Noble County 1,000 acres at Dorset WMA in Ashtabula County 929 acres in Scioto Co “Little Smokes” in Shawnee State Forest 700 acres Preble Co, Woodland Trails Boy Scout Camp 785 acres Brush Creek WMA in Jefferson County 496 acres adjacent to Mosquito Creek WA in Trumbull Co 283 acres in Wolf Creek WA Morgan Co 93 acres in Morgan Co Wolf Creek WMA 33 acres Adams Co, Tranquility WMA Many other smaller public land acquisitions across Ohio Administered jointly by the NWTF, its state chapters and their respective state wildlife agencies, the Wild Turkey Super Fund has become the model funding mechanism for non-governmental organizations. These funds have been utilized to leverage more than $20 million additional dollars to Ohio for conservation. $681,140 to Outreach • Jakes, WITO, Wheelin, NASP to introduce and provide opportunities to disabled, youth, and women to the outdoors, conservation, hunting, and fishing. These programs are administered through local schools, local NWTF chapters, as well as State Agencies. Many college bound students have been provided funds through local chapter scholarship match as well as a state scholarship winner annually. Close to 500 student have been provided scholarship funds to aid in their education. $434,442 toward Land Management & Habitat Improvements • Provided funds for Prescribed burns, Invasive removal programs, tree and seed subsidy for Ohio NWTF members, and equipment purchases for ODNR, Soil and Water Districts, as well as other public entities for public use. A substantial amount of these funds were leveraged for match to provide for much larger projects. $209,100 to protect our Hunting Heritage / Families Afield • US Sportsman Alliance support to help with issues such as dove issue and Sunday hunting • National Shooting Sports Foundation support $38,212 in NWTF Chapter / Volunteer Development • NWTF Conventions and Leadership Conferences $376,252 for other priorities to Save the Habitat, Save the Hunt • Restoration, Research, and Reward programs • NWTF Staff support for the Ohio Biologist and R3 positions • Turkey Hunters Care to provide food to those in need across Ohio Your Support Toward our Hunting Heritage Banquets Make it Happen!
